I think it could well be a 0-0 draw. Sri Lankan bowling attack, whilst it may be a little better in Sri Lanka, is pretty terrible, and their pitches in the most recent tests played there were flat as a tack.

lol if they don't pick Khawaja and Copeland then we deserve to lose.

Lasith Malinga in tests is average. Has a bowling average approaching 35 and goes for almost 4 an over, there's a reason why he plays the pyjama cricket.

im sorry to say it and break your hearts, but you are all wrong

Bank on a SL whitewash

Cheers for that, Australia 3-0 it is.

reports in the telecrap about our bowling attack being Johnson, Harris, Beer & Lyon. Add that to Marsh's likely selection. Why play tour matches?? Idiots

I am trying to find an online link. Basically the article said Clarke liked the left & Right arm combination.

The problem is neither spinner is good. Johnson is too over the place & Harris injury prone. Even if they ignore the tour match the 1 day series showed pace is the killer. Malinga ripped through Australia. All of our pacemen tore SL apart.

He's not outstanding but when compared to the other 'quicks' the Lankans have to choose from you can see why they'd want him back

Hopefully it's just Clarke playing ducks and drakes. Most of the Lankan's big partnerships in the tour game came with the two spinners operating (or when Shittle was on). So unless he wants to see Sanga and Mahela try for another of their huge partnerships he'll go with three quicks. If he wants to have the option of left/right spin options then simply pick Lyon and bowl himself.

As stupid as some of our selections have been in the past to leave out Copeland and Khawaja would top the lot.

"Let's pick Shaun Marsh, he scored 70 in a one day game"

Oh and his Dad's Geoff Marsh, or was that Rod Marsh (seriously I have seen some pelican write that it would be good to make Rod Marsh head selector so that his boys would get selected for Australia), oh and he was the top scorer in the IPL once, and he's played more at 6 than Usman (he hasn't actually, but did play a long time at 5 because he was too shit to force his way higher).

Seriously some of the ridiculous reasons people come up with to justify selecting Marsh are hilarious. What they are really saying is "I don't pay any attention to first class cricket and wouldn't know Mark Cosgrove from a bucket of KFC (the bucket of KFC has less fat) but I've seen Marsh play T20 and ODI on television so he must be good".

I'm sure he is Geoff Marsh's son.

Marsh is decent enough in the pyjama cricket but FMD if he plays tests over Khawaja in Sri Lanka it's just a dead set joke.

If we don't pick Khawaja and Copeland in this series I will do my bit :x

Remember the days when scoring centuries couldn't get you back in to the test team? Michael Bevan scored twin 80's at Perth against the West Indies and as deemed not good enough, what a joke we've become.

Yeah I know he's Geoff's son. Merely noting that plenty of dopes out there don't know the difference between Geoff and Rod, or it seems between limited overs cricket and the real thing.

I blame Hilditch.

Ok that's hardly news, but it was that idiot who came out with the comment that he rated ODI form more than Shield form. It seems with Lyon's selection he also rates Big Bash and List A form over shield form when selecting a Test squad.

maybe they might drop hussey and play both marsh and Uzi? :sarcasm:

f**k even an out of form Hussey is a better bet than Marsh.

I'm crossing my fingers, toes and anything else I can think of the Lynn, Warner, Maddinson, Maxwell, or one of the other young guns comes out and blasts 1000 runs this summer in the Shield so that we can put an end to the talk of mediocrities like Marsh and Ferguson as Test batsmen.
