The Storm crowds continue to disappoint. Up against Sydney crowds though, outstanding.

9 had the perfect opportunity to showcase the Storm on FTA TV in Melbourne on Sunday, but as usual they let the code down in Victoria.

3 disappointmests this round and 5 reasonable results.

The 10K at Melbourne is disappointing but understandable. It was R1 of the AFL with all the big 4 AFL teams playing in Melbourne so frankly the Storm didn't stand a chance of getting any walf up or any real coverage.

The Panthers crowd is simply pathetic and to be honest is anyone surprised any more at poor Dragons home crowds? They have huge support nationwide but are poorly supported in Sydney. It seems strange but its true.

A very "meh" round completed, but next weekend should be a cracker. Around 25,000 for the Dogs/Tigers and Titans/Sharks should happen, and I'd be surprised with anything less than 45,000 for the Broncos/Cowboys. :D

The only difference is we haven't had any blockbuster games at Lang Park yet. Are the Titans taking any games there this year?

I realise Suncorp is bigger but why would the Titans move any games given their fantastic new stadium and the opportunity to absolutely fill it every game?

I expect about 18,000 at SFS - no critisism of either team but again an out of town team who don't have a big fan base in Sydney.

For Saturday 5:30 that would be an incredible figure IMO... I'm hoping for anything over 15k which IMO would be a blessing.

If we only get 19k for Wests v Dogs that will be a disgrace.

Anything less than 25k is unacceptable.

Should really get 30k.

I'm predicting anywhere between about 21-24k for that one I think... anything more is lucky and anything less is a big disappointment. Good forecast, both teams in decent enough form, first 'Dogs home game of the season :)lol:)

I agree mate, but there has generally been a marked difference between what we all expect and what actually eventuates with crowds. The fact is that 30,000 crowds are a rarity, even with reasonable hype and lead-up. I would hope for more of course, but being realistic about this game I think anything around 20,000 with be a decent effort.

Perhaps for the opportunity for another 20000 patrons. If Lang Park builds a good enough offer, they will come.

The tigers are 2 and 0. The Dogs are playing their forst home game and beat the rabbits in R2. I absolutely agree with those saying we need to tone down expectations and the occasional ridiculous expectations for Sydney derbies only lead to disappointment but surely the Dods at home to the unbeaten Tigers can expect at least 25,000!!! Less than 22,500 is poor. More than 27,500 a good result.

I'd say Roosters and Sea eagles will both be near enough 13,000 but Penrith wories me. i'll be pleased to see 10,000. Shame the Sharks are not at home to Sydney opposition. Shark park would be packed.

Thankfully someone is thinking logically.

As a Storm fan I was disappointed with the 10k, but it was understandable. It was the opening round of the AFL. The Bulldogs were playing Adelaide and Hawthorn were playing Melbourne. Add is some not so good weather (don't think it was that bad though) and the fact it was Easter Sunday and it helps it explain it a little better.

OP is a problem for the Storm though, people simply don't want to go to OP. It's old, run down and has terrible facilities. The only GA is standing on the terraces, and how many families want to take their kids to stand all day when there is a chance of rain?

Walking through the city after the game I had a number of people come up and ask me what the score was, and they were genuinely disappointed to hear that we lost. The task is to now get these people to actually come to the games. There are enough people interested, they just don't attend.
