Knights (same as 2009)

Aren't these two playing each other? Bit of a clash?

definately not dreaming, I saw it right next to the sharks strip. Again it look ligit with all the sponsors NRL & Saints logos etc..... I know it doesnt make sense but maybe they have decided (late RE the steelers heritage match has been and gone) to do 2 like the tigpies???? Might wear it against the faiders considering they came in same year?????

Has anyone know who's sponsoring the City side this year? Much to the sponsors delight, Hokko and Kris Keating folded their arms over the logo in their picture in Tuesdays paper.

Looks like it's true...

Bizzare, given the status of the clash being billed as a Bulldogs/Saints 85 GF replay clash.

very disappointed.

That jersey should be our alternate jersey.

IMO, our jersey break down should be:

Steelers Jersey (as pictured) - once per year at WIN Stadium (Steelers heritage round), 3 or 4 times per year as required (against Dogs and a couple of others...we often seem to wear it in Canberra-last year excepted)

Blood and bandages (or butchers stripes) vs Dogs in heritage round (St.George heritage) and in the Charity Shield

Red V - at all other times.

Get rid of the horrible wolverine slash jersey FFS! And why, if you were going to have steelers heritage round against the broncos a few weeks ago, would you not wear the jersey pictured? Absolute idiots.

I'd assume it might be since some complained the two jerseys last year clashed, both being with blood and bandages but different colours.

If Saints and Canterbury were to play in the Grand Final, would the NRL make one of them wear their alternate jersey? And what would they say if you showed them footage of the 1979 and '85 Grand Finals and said "No problem back then!"

This whole "Heritage Round" thing has me confused too- Souths are wearing the mintie wrapper jersey from the '80s? The Gold Coast are running out in a jersey they never wore in their documented history, instead of the grey, black and white Giants one? And, of course, the Dragons are in an Illawarra heritage jersey? FMD- who has trouble working out the difference between a white top with red stripes and a white top with blue stripes? The NRL had no problem with Penrith wearing their teal away jersey against the Titans last week!

I think its a joke that clubs who who virtually never changed there design should ever be forced to change.

I was appalled that the roosters had to wear white against the NZ warriors in the 2002GF (although turned out to be their lucky colour i guess)...the cowboys/tigers issue i wasnt as concerned with as neither were traditional jersey designs anyway.

1994 white alternative

australia-alternative-away-rugby-shirt-1994-s_470_1_500x400.jpg

It was for the 1992 World Cup tour. We played 3 warm up matches in that thing before the World Cup final. Back then the World Cup was basically the cumulative results of test matches over 4 years, with a final played between the two most successful teams (Australia beat Great Britain 10-6).

The 1994 alternate jersey was similar to the one a few posts back with the gold horizontal stripes below the double V.

Yeah they would make one of those teams wear an alternate. I'd only hope it was Canterbury, because the Dragons alternate is shocking.

It's good to see the Steelers getting some recognition, but if they were going to wear that, you'd think they'd promote the game as a Steelers vs Bulldogs, not the Dragons. They should have worn it against the Broncos for their 'heritage' round definitely.

The heritage round is a bit strange, but in defence on the Titans, they have no real connection to the old Gold Coast teams - apart from the fact that they play at the coast. Maybe they don't have permission to use the old jerseys - who knows.

Where can we complain? I can only find corporate partnerships staff emails.

I

i remember back when they where admitted in 2005, searle said they where going to remember the former gc clubs as much as they could by incorporating the previous gc records into the new one (eg. prestons 1st game for the titans would have been his 5th overall having played four or so back in 98) and using old jersey designs for any heritage rounds, i suppose they decided to abandon that idea

Is it just me, or did the NZ jumper look so much better than the Aus one based purely on the fact their was no sponsor on the front?

Also, Country RL needs to go back to their old Maroon + Yellow jumper. The white one from tonight and the last few years is horrid!

Alternate jerseys should only be used when there is a clash of colours.
