I just paid for a Social Membership with the Titans for $45 (I am a Ticketed Broncos Member).

Have always had a soft spot for them and want to see them go strong with the Suns in town. I urge anyone else who can do the same as it helps the game to do it. :)

Thomo you would be right to an extent. Some clubs like Penrith only have ticketed membership. Unless we get EVERY Club has the exact package it will give us the same data ATM its the only way. People like Andrew Voss get every membership so it will always be just a rough gauge.

I can confirm the Dragons Red V number is the total number of memberships that they have sold, including both tickets and non-ticketed memberships.

As for your question Thommo about is there any clubs that might only submit their ticketed numbers only to the NRL, all I can say is it wouldn't be in their best interest to do something like that. All clubs have to provide some pretty comprehensive breakdowns of their membership numbers, revenues and so on to the NRL, so they'd have to tweak all that as well, which is something I couldn't understand them doing.

That said I could see some clubs potentially 'holding back' member number updates from the traditionally stronger months of October and November to make the quieter months of December and January look stronger, and show regular constant updates, but the numbers that will come out in late March will be pretty much the final numbers.

The reality, is outside of Souths, most clubs haven't yet worked out how to effectively market their non-ticketed memberships. Eels are possibly the next biggest in the non-ticketed arena, but the rest, non-ticketed would often only be less than 10% of their total membership numbers.

Also Panthers do have non-ticketed memberships, if you look they offer an interstate/international membership package and a bush membership package.

Thanks mate, very clear response, and clears it up totally for me.

All good guys, was just questioning it and here's hoping the numbers keep growing across all clubs.

Not a problem mate, there is no doubt a lot of 'grey area' with memberships in general so don't hesitate to ask if there is any areas that you would like clarification on.

The encouraging thing is clubs do appear to be getting better each year at building membership programs and promoting them to their fans, whilst at the same time fans are also realising the value of membership and how it helps their club.

We are as a game slowly getting this area right, which is shown by all clubs currently being up on their numbers compared to the same time last year.

While i'm sure some will find that commendable and congratulate you if i'm totally honest there's no way in hell i'd be giving a cent to any club beside my own. The only way i would even contemplate that is if they were on their knees and about to fold i might give something to keep them around but that's about it and the Tits are hardly in that situation. Hell i'd rather give it directly to the NRL before i'd give it to another club if i wanted to help the game.

It's all well and good helping the game and i'm all for that but giving an extra $45 to either an opposition club or your own is still helping the game equally, it's just helping your own club and makes more sense to give it to them. good on you for doing it and all that but any spare cash i had would be going only to my club and nobody elses thats all. I'm sure many are ready to sh*t can me for saying this but i bet anything that the vast majority* never gave one cent to another club and i don't blame them.

*That excludes Tim who's missus has him well and truly under the thumb. Just sayin Timbo....

I can see where you are coming from but the payment isn't for "money" but the little difference it will make when the AFL compare membership numbers on the GC and "claim" it is a win.

But too be fair mate, when the Titans played the Roosters at Suncorp last year and I dished out that many clams for a seat just so I could be AT a finals game at all, it's all the same by your argument. Money in the Titans pocket. Or when the Titans played home games from Suncorp in their inaugural year, or when I travel down the coast to see the Broncos play away... well you get my point...

If Sydneysiders had the same mentality every seat would be sold to every finals game, but I digress.

I'll bite. Under the thumb?

I love my footy, regardless of who's playing (except maybe if it's say, Souths v Cowboys @ ANZ. THAT is boring). The previous two seasons I'd gone to games at Kogarah with her and paid a ticket each time (just as she had come to ANZ for Dogs games and done the same). It ends up infinitely cheaper to just buy a membership to both clubs.

Im was in a similar situation too. My missus follows the Roosters and we would go to each others games. For a couple of years we had season tickets to both clubs, worked out much cheaper. I dont go to Roosters games anymore now unless they are playing Parra but she still comes with me to Parra and has her own season ticket. And if she cant make it, its not hard to find a replacement.

Many fans in Sydney travel a similar distance to see their team play, they even travel to Far NQ, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne & NZ. How often do you make a similar trip ?

Wow you travelled an hour and a bit from brisbane to see your team play the Titans. This mindset would have no difference to Sydney finals crowds as you claim.

Most finals in Sydney outdrew the Titans home semi (not even a sellout).

How very typical, a QLD'er having a pathetic attempt at denigrating Sydney crowds. When was the last time there was a 70+ thousand to a finals game in Brisbane.

Settle down mate this wasn't a QLD v NSW thing in regards to crowds. All I am saying is in NSW whether your team makes the finals or not, there is finals happening in your city every year. Many RL fans (outside NSW) would kill for that and go to those games with or without their team playing.

Considering the number of teams in NSW and therefore the number of fans belong to those teams there isn't many reasons why all Finals games shouldn't sell out for the love of the game and not the teams playing.

Central Coast Bears passing 5,000 members with a bullet. Already ahead of Panthers, Warriors and Sharks with Manly and Titans to be overtaken within 3 months.

Here Come The Bears!

Whilst i am happy for the Central Coast Bears to break through the 5000 barrier theres no reason to put down other clubs.

Your cheapest Membership is $20 IIRC. I am sure Penrith would have 5,000 members by now if people only had to pay $20.

Whether this 5,000 will be willing to fork out $300 for Reserved Seats in 2013 is the key.
