Whilst i am happy for the Central Coast Bears to break through the 5000 barrier theres no reason to put down other clubs.

Your cheapest Membership is $20 IIRC. I am sure Penrith would have 5,000 members by now if people only had to pay $20.

Whether this 5,000 will be willing to fork out $300 for Reserved Seats in 2013 is the key.

Mate, no way am I putting down other clubs. Apologies if you thought that. I just think its amazing the Bears have so much support. All clubs have a lead-in membership package such as what we have, the difference being the Central Coast only have 1 type of membership to sell. When they can add memberships which include games, the membership will double. The Bears aim to have 20,000 members by 2013.

Close to 100 of those members have paid $5500 for their membership.

i'm a fan of the bears. north sydney were one of my preferred teams back in the day, and they were treated horrifically by the ARL, News Ltd and Manly. The current dispute with Manly is one that the Bears are entitled to have after what Manly did to them.

these guys are my preferred side for 2013, along with Ipswich, and i'm happy to support them.

but how 5000 people had the patience to navigate that abomination of a website to become members, i'll never know. i only discovered reading this thread that memberships for the Bears start at $20, so I went to get one... but that site is horrendous!

edit: the bears could also learn a bit about their membership packages from the the Reds. i don't have a problem with the bears packages - they're cheap, and they were probably just intended to get a groundswell of support. but compared to the reds packages? well, if i'm a rugby league fan looking to support expansion and looking to support the inclusion of a particular team, then based on the website and the membership packes, the Bears are a long way behind the Reds.

Cheers for the feedback on the site - I'll pass your comments on to CC Bears management!

Rabbitohs Close in on 10,000 Ticketed Members

11 Jan 2011

Rabbitohs fans continue to show their support by jumping on board as 2011 Members as the Club closes in on the 10,000 Ticketed Members mark.

Our Ticketed Membership number currently stands at 9,774, over 1,000 Members greater than the same stage last year. As we get closer to the milestone that is 10,000 Ticketed Members we urge all Rabbitohs Members and supporters to get their family and friends on board to ‘Stand and be Counted’.

With a 2011 target of 14,000 Ticketed Members there is still a long way to go so we need the passion of Rabbitohs supporters to help us reach this target in the lead up to the 2011 season. Our total Membership base currently stands at just over 15,500; we are well on our way to reaching our goal of 20,000 Members!

You can purchase a 2011 Rabbitohs Membership using the following options:

Online: Click Here to join or renew your Membership now.
Phone: The Rabbitohs Membership Team on 02 8306 9922 (Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm).
In Person: Visit the Rabbitohs Membership Team at Level 4, 265 Chalmers Street, Redfern (Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm).

Doggies are catching up to the Eels in memberships

Doggies 8105
Eels 8460
Looks like those 2 western sydney rivals are going to go down to the wire to see who gets more. Which of the 2 had more 2010 members?
Great news, the best bit is "1000 more than this time last year". Looks to be another strong year of membership growth.
Souths have to at least make the semi finals this year, people can only stay loyal for so long.
I think I'm going to develop a facial tic at the stress I'm getting at the prospect of...agreeing with Haynetrain. I really really really hate to say this but I think you're right.

Our numbers are excellent for any team in any situation, but simply phenonomenal for a team that's missed the playoffs 3 years in a row. I'm sure the Inglis news has done it's part in helping the growth this year but we really need to reward fans with results on the field. If we do as well this year as I think we will then we'll keep getting great growth, perhaps 25k+ total members, and towards 20k ticketed in 2012. But if we miss the finals yet again I'd expect our numbers to decline.

hopefully the bunnies can capitalise on this and have some success so that they can retain this many - it can obviously be put down to the excitement surrounding inglis.

if this season doesn't go well then, i'd anticipate a lot of them dropping off...

Also agree with Hayne Train. Time for Souths to perform or their numbers will decline.

Considering most clubs are still only just coming back and re-opening their offices this week, there would be no way for the NRL to get the latest membership numbers currently.

Expect another update late next week / early week after.

Also Panthers do have non-ticketed memberships, if you look they offer an interstate/international membership package and a bush membership package.

But all contain a ticket to the local venue eg Brisbane members get a ticket to Penrith v Brisbane at Suncorp.

Bush membership contains 2 GA tickets to Penrith Stadium they should non-ticket but don't sadly
