2012 NSW soo side..

I think we have been beaten by QLD 1, 6, 7 and 9 for the past series, realistically we dont have the same ability and depth that QLD have there but also some stupid decisions have been made.

QLD picked Slater when Hunt, Bowen and Wesser were in form and I think NSW have to do that with either Hayne or Stewart (Dugan is a gumby). Farah has to be in the 9 and given time while pick to halves and stick with them, Pearce and Soward are sh*t but is there anyone smuch better. Campese, Mullen and Carney are just as up and down as those two.

Dugan is a 2 time all-star fullback. Hayne is a footnote in the history of fullback play.

I think Dugan showed that he is capable to be successful in the origin arena after that one game. He was very calm when he was playing a very high pressured game on debut.
Stewart and Dugan will be battling it out for the fullback position for the next few years. They both get niggling injuries a fair bit so whoevers fit will probably get the position.

Jarryd Hayne is a Brad Fittler Medalist and one of our most experienced Origin players with 13 appearances. He's actually done something at State of Origin level, to dismiss him would be foolish.

Dugan got voted into a trial match alongside the likes of Aaron Payne, Ben Hornby and Jared Waerea-Hargraves, superstar!

What's the Brad Fittler medal for? Oh yeah, that's right NSW player of the series. How many of those series did NSW win? Oh yeah, 0. It's probably why Sticky dropped the useless mong.

Btw why isn't it called the Laurie Daley, Ricky Stuart of Glenn Lazarus medal?

How many SoO Man of the Matches has Dugan won? Or player of the series? Right now his only memorable moment was his match losing f**k up with Brett Morris.

NSW lost the only game Josh Dugan played, before he collapsed under the pain of a boil. NSW lost the only game Terry Campese played as well. Stupid reasoning, isn't it?

Jarryd Hayne has been NSW's best since his debut and the only player to consistently make the side. Right now Dugan's still a one game wonder.

I strongly agree with the Hayne comments RHCP, but bagging Dugan and Campese's performances is probably a bit rough. Dugan played in a game where NSW were on their line for most of the game without the ball. He also threw the ball that put Jennings through the gap to score a try. That Yow Yeh try was definately Morris' fault, clearly it was Morris' job to take that ball or at least shadow it.

Campese also had very little ball in his only game. Every time he did get the ball was a pressure pass forced by Wallace because the defense was right in his face.
Wallace should of been dropped and Campese should have been retained for game 2, probably with Kimmorley.

Actually Dugan had the boil during the City-Country game in which he outplayed Hayne despite said boil and Country won. He was then righfully selected ahead of princess Hayne.

If fit, he will be rightfully selected ahead of Hayne again this year.

1 game is one thing, but contributing to series loss after series loss is a whole other matter.

Just using Bobby's flawed logic of losing games/series = shouldn't be picked.

It's a 3 game series, losing one match is halfway to losing a whole series.

To be honest NSW aren't that far away but will always fall short while they have a poor #9. Ennis and Farah aren't the answer.
Pearce is not good enough at #7.
Soward's not dangerous enough at #6.
Dugan and Minichello need to be kept away from fullback too. Stewart or Hayne are the answer there.

A poor #9 isn't the issue. Strong leadership makes the difference. NSW won Game III in 2009 due to the experience and leadership from Kimmorley and an inspired performance from Watmough. In Game I of 2009, NSW looked most threatening when Craig Wing took charge, alternating at dummy half with Farah. The faith that the selectors have shown in Pearce should give him the confidence to direct the team around the park and with someone strong and creative halves partner like Campese or Carney, it shouldn't matter too much who's feeding them the ball, whether it's Buderus, Gidley or Hinchcliffe.

And isn't some Canberra nuffy

Daley, Stuart and Lazarus are NSW 3 best ever players. They saved Origin from dying an early death.

BTW:

Josh Dugan an early Origin contender
THE image of Josh Dugan looking ripped and in full flight on the training paddock is sure to be a welcome sight for NSW coach Ricky Stuart and every Blues fan hoping to finally see an end to the Queensland Origin dynasty.
Josh Dugan yesterday flashed off his chiselled frame - and a few new tattoos - as he trained with his NRL All Stars teammates in sticky conditions at Coogee Oval.

And while Dugan may have broken down with an ankle injury midway through last year, he is ready to hit the ground running and reclaim his Blues No.1 jumper.

"That's the plan, but you have to remain fit and be playing games to get picked in the rep sides," Dugan told The Daily Telegraph.

"My parents told me the other day that Ricky said in the paper if I can get back to playing good footy, I'm a very good chance of getting back in the NSW team.

"That's my goal, to play good footy for Canberra, and use Country as my stepping stone (to the Blues).

"Jarryd Hayne will definitely be a challenge, with him being back at fullback at Parramatta and playing off some good halves, including Chris Sandow. And Brett Stewart had a good year last year, he's injury-free, so if he starts well there will be some good rivalry there."

Buy Dugan in your SuperCoach team and sign up for our NRL tipping comp.

Dugan played in Origin I last year, only to break down for the Raiders in the same horror afternoon club favourite Terry Campese also succumbed to serious injury.

The Raiders struggled with their bulging casualty ward, but it was the loss of Dugan that hurt them most.

The 21-year-old underwent ankle surgery, then broke down three weeks into pre-season training with an adductor strain.

"I got caught in the wet, I slid on my knees and tore both sides," Dugan said.

"I was back running the week before Christmas, but I came back after Christmas because they (Raiders medical staff) wanted to give me an extra week. Since then I've been fine and I've had no problems with the ankle."

It was during the corresponding All Stars game last year that Dugan announced himself to the football world.

He earned rave reviews and would love another standout performance against the Indigenous All Stars on Saturday.

Dugan yesterday visited Blacktown Hospital with some of the All Stars, while the bulk of the squad took time out to read to children at Blacktown Library.

As for Dugan's artwork, he said he had more work done to his wrist during the off-season, while he has also started work on a second sleeve tattoo.

"But it will have to wait a while to get finished now I've started training and playing," said Dugan, who now tips the scales at 96.5kg.

Nice of him to mention Hayne and Stewart even being a chance.

Farah was not given a proper chance in SOO. He has only played 2 games. The first chance they had to get rid of him they did. They always wanted that Nuffie Ennis. He has played 7 games and has done nothing whatsover.

If Farah had the chance to make the position his own like Pearce has Im sure we would not be talking about hooking options.

Robbie should be there period.

I agree with giving Farah another shot. He offers more in attack than Ennis. Actually I'm not sure what Ennis offers.
