The NRL needs to make a rule about sponsors logos, Gazf's example shows how its done properly

The NRL needs to employ a full time Jersey / Merchandise designer(s) to actually design this stuff. Take it out of the hands of the clubs and manufacturers. Yes the club would have a say of what they want but in the end it is up to the NRL designer to make the designs and submit to the manufacturer. It will have some consistancy and quality. make it happen.

Think that it's important to remember that it's down to a combination of what A) the sponsors want for their money IE maximum exposure for the investment. B) Manufacturers who come up with the ideas for the jerseys C) the board of each club who agrees what design to go for D) the Governing body who approves each jersey.

There would surely already be somebody in compliance at the NRL who has to ratify all designs.

I agree there should be greater powers and guidelines but that's life.

The last time that happened was the Super League war and those jerseys, if I can quote Storm and Canterbury premiership coach Opes Anderson, were described as a disasterous experiment involving gorillas, paint and whiskey...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I don't believe there needs to be a centralised design system but there does need to be better guidelines on sponsors placement and integration, number of jerseys, etc.

At end of day if they come up with a poor design they lose money as fans won't buy them.

All you need is:
Sponsor each sleeve (once)
One front Sponsor
One lower back Sponsor
Names above the numbers
Sponsors intergrated (no billboard stickers)

You'll end up having six teams wearing the same design.

I don't think the inference about a regulator appointed about jerseys is supposed to end up with templated jerseys like SL, that's ridiculous.

I think the point is to regulate sponsorship integration more than anything, and to avoid obvious clashes.

Yes, but the person who does that would have plenty of other roles and would only be checking stuff like sponsorship by illicit, illegal or conflicting companies.

We're referring to sponsorship integration into design, which countless clubs currently fail at.

Some people struggle once they run out of fingers!

I'd have to say Storm are worse for sponsor integration, they continually just slap a big square with the sponsor on it right over the design. :x

And thats why the lightning bolts have never worked for the Storm, because the sponsor was always an afterthought.

Fans like sponsors to be integrated as the jerseys look neater and they look more tasteful to wear out.

I wouldn't be surprised if the media analysis companies find a bright box based sponsor logo has more cut through as it stands out more.
