If the NRL aquires even more jersey sponsors, they must consider releasing quality fan jerseys with reduced sponsorship. I haven't bought any onfield wear in about 4 years because I don't want to be a walking billboard.

+1

I was looking at my retro Penfolds jersey the other day, and it just looks so clean.

I also fear our retro strip this year will be butchered by the sponsorships on it.

No doubt the sponsors will counter by saying "we are giving you this money, we would like our name on everything you sell" (which I guess they kind of have a right to say).

Concerning the Aussie jersey, we will look back on this period and say "remember how much the ARLC used to love chevrons?!".

Woeful stuff.

I get that people want jerseys to be sacred and whatnot, but you know what? If companies are willing to sink $$$ in for exposure then they can have what space they pay for. If that means 6-7 sponsors on each club's kit, then so be it.

As long as it's done with a bit of thought and not just chucked on then it's OK by me...

At what expense?

I think we have the balance perfect with front of shirt, sleeve and two back of shirt sponsors.

But whoring off the jerseys cheapens brands. I don't like the collar sponsors we are seeing creep in, and the Bulldogs prostitution of their strip to advertise the release of a f**king blu-ray was a disgrace.

The sponsors certainly deserve the exposure they pay for, its up to the clubs and commission to choose whether or not the money is worth the deed.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it all streamlined in terms of integration, white boxes and colours etc, but if more businesses wanna pump money in, good on em.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see a conservative design win. If only the Tigers could go in that direction for all their uniforms.

The integration may or may not change the value of a sponsorship deal; its been argued plenty of times here. The NRL should enforce sponsor integration as a bare minimum.

I'm so happy that jersey won, it was clearly the best out of the 6. I'll be getting one.

It was voted for by the fans so hopefully the Tigers front office listens to what the fans want.

The NRL just doubled what it earns with the new TV rights deal. The increase in that income the clubs make dwarfs whatever the 3rd/4th/5th sponsor on the jersey costs.

It's like getting a massive promotion and going from 50k a year to 250k a year and still taking the time to save a few cents by cutting out coupons. Ridiculous.

Limit jersey sponsorships to 1 or 2 max.
