Rubbish! Unless they are playing Manly in it there is no issue.

A nice, neat variation on the current design that differentiates the u20s from the NRL side... AND still has two of our three traditional colours: white and maroon.

On the other hand, the Bulldogs u20s should NEVER have been allowed to wear this:

Looks too like Parramatta that strip.

Looks like Newtown

My concern isn't who they're playing against in it, my first thought (and I'm clearly not alone) is that looks like a Manly jersey.

As for the above, I completely agree and I believe the club (Canterbury) even apologised for the stuff up.

You still want the jersey to be instantly recognisable as the Broncos though. If you were't as involved as a supporter and turned the TV on, would you immediately recognise them as the Broncos or confuse them with Manly?

Agree on the Dogs, not only is it a huge clash with Parra, its dogs**t ugly.

Flip side: Manly wear too much maroon and look too much like Brisbane. the should both change.

Flippancy aside, both Brisbane and Manly have maroon as their predominant colour. They can both incorporate it into their away jerseys however they wish.

Fair enough.

If I wasn't especially a supporter, I guess I would associate Manly with maroon and would have to think twice about who that team wearing the predominantly white jersey is no matter what.

It would be fair enough if white was a dominant colour but the gold is far more dominant and unique, looks pretty good too.

The Dragon's heritage jersey laid out (as we've seen), but also on a mannequin.

Does anyone else think the logos (all three of them, especially the one between the "V") look massive??

It's actually a little off-putting, I don't know if I'll fork out approx. $150 for it now.

The NRL and club and sponsor patches ruin it IMO. Pity they are critical though...

Too Manly.

The Broncos U20s side not only have last years home jersey design, they also have a new away jersey colour scheme not used by first grade. I saw an image in Big League but couldn't find one online so here is a mock-up:

2013 U20s Home

2013 U20s Away

Why didn't they have the U20s away colour combo for the Broncos away in 2003 onwards instead of white and navy. Would have been more appropriate...

there is no need for a white jersey for any team in the comp,
why don't they just do what the seniors do and invert the colours (gold with maroon trim...)

and on the Dragons heritage,
does anyone remember one of the first time heritage's were used and Souths ditched sponsors altogether, had a modified rabbit logo, and i think it was even cotton?

unless the bank didnt allow it, surely if they wanted to go sponsor-less they could?

There's no chance of getting one at the shops here in Sydney especially if its Salford you're after. Online is the only place to get em these days.

I think the Dragons and Bulldogs would disagree with you on that, seeing as their traditional jerseys are both white.;-)

I think the main sponsor on Dragons jerseys is one of the least intrusive as it is. Their corporate colours are red and white, they let us alternate the colours on our alternate jersey so that there is no background, the name of the company is part of the name of our team and the corporate logo is the image of our mascot- the happy dragon. How could it get any better?

Agree with Prometheus.

Also I reckon that heritage jersey will be our number 1 jersey sold this year. Why would st George bank give that up?

With that Souths heritage, it was in honour of their 1967 GF team I believe. It wasn't cotton, but the sponsors of the time did agree to give up their place on the jersey for that one game against the Tigers.

I guess the point I was making was not that it should be the current away jersey, but should have been chosen before white and navy back in 2003 as navy has nothing to do with the Broncos colours. I have absolutely no dramas with a maroon/gold home and a gold/maroon away and this is clearly the best choice. It will be interesting to see what they do with the next away as I believe that a pallette swap of the current home jersey would not create a very distinct clash with their own home jersey and therefore would not work as a clash jersey against Manly.

Used in a trial too I think. They released a cotton fan replica, wonder how well it sold.

Gold jersey, maroon shorts and gold socks would be distinct enough.

I remember a picture on the front cover of either a Big League or a Rugby League Week from a few years back that showed the Souths and Roosters captains dressed in replica foundation uniforms. They were wearing long-sleeved cotton jerseys (both in horizontal stripes) and cotton shorts (Souths black, Roosters white IIRC). I think one of them was holding an old leather ball.

If you're right then they screwed that one up. Only Newtown, Glebe and Balmain wore white shorts in 1908.
