2013 Jersey, Logo & Sponsorship Thread II

Now this is interesting..........

Just been looking at a UK online retailer and they're advertising the Pro edition of the new Kangaroos jersey for sale without the the big yellow collar, just like what Paul Gallen wore when these jerseys were first shown off.

I actually like it with the new CCC pro collar, even if that puts me in the minority around here!

Better than Leeds but not quite this:

So Melbourne are doing what we used to do for the World 7's in the 90's, stealing Wigan jerseys.

Apparently this is the Raiders Canberra centenary jersey, but it has not been confirmed by the club yet.

The only criticisms I have are that the blue is not dark enough on this mockup and I would have liked to see them go with gold instead of yellow as a point of difference to the Brumbies, other then that it is a pretty standard official ACT jersey.

Like this a lot!!! Love the ACT colours, do wish however 2 things:

1) wish the jersey was gold like the other ACT teams for the centenary

&

2) that we had the centenary logo on our jerseys all year.

Blue is the primary colour of the ACT and most of the teams that are going with a predominantly gold centenary jersey are doing so because their normal jerseys are predominantly blue.

Maybe, however it's the "Canberra" raiders not the ACT raiders...

The original design ideas for the Canberra Raiders and their jerseys were all blue and gold, but these were all knocked back by the NSWRL because they all looked to much like the Eels.

The only reason we have the lime green is because the Raiders could not come up with a design that had historical significance to the area so they held a public competition for the best design. The lady who won the competition (who's name slips my mind), came up with the lime green because the first rugby league club in Canberra, Hall's colour was lime green.

Taking up the blue and gold of Canberra and the ACT should have happened many years ago, but many different circumstances prevented us from doing so. I would not be surprised if this jersey, or a similar one becomes our permanent away jersey in the not to distant future and I and anybody else that is from Canberra would understand and approve if they did make our away jersey blue and gold.

Yeah but it's still "Canberra", what if one day there was a second ACT team? Or would your fans rather it be call ACT Raiders?

Tell me what you think the chances of the ACT ever getting a second team are? Personally I think 0%.

Also Canberra pretty much is the ACT! So why is it so hard for you to understand that when a person says "the ACTs national colours" or whatever they are basically saying the Canberras national colours. Who knows, maybe in the future the ACT may expand to create new towns or cities apart from Canberra, but even then the blue, gold and green will remain synonymous with Canberran sports teams as the other towns and cities will develop their own independent culture and traditions.

I don't know anyone who would refer to ACT's or Canberra's national colours...

Not having a go, just educating.

True, but what are the chances of the ACT getting an Origin team or something like it, with in the next 100 years or so, very slim to none so we have to make do.

While you right about blue being the predominant colour of the ACT the reason all the teams are wearing gold is cause it's the colour of the centenary.

Wish the Roosters would create something more contemporary & interesting to look at. Give me the Super League designs over the traditional Roosters, Rabbitohs & Dragons yawn kits any day.
