So let me get this straight. You WERE a Manly fan up until the merger with Norths, fair enough, mergers are a sticky subject. However you decided not to continue to follow them after the merger was disbanded and went back to being Manly Warringah Sea Eagles?

What's the difference between the two clubs that stops you from following the "new" Manly?

Back on topic, anyone know why the chooks wore their heritage jersey against the Raiders?

Didn't really make sense but its not a bad jersey. Although the socks were wrong, they looked pretty good as well.

Its done as a means to boost sales. No one wants to buy a jersey the players don't wear.

The the reason for any special jersey. My question was directed more at why against the Raiders, since theres no real historical context for it.

One is a V design, the other is hoops. One is mostly blue, the other is mostly red.

I can't imagine any of those being a problem. The Knights would be the closest and even then it would be easy to differentiate them. I've never heard the NRL say that the regular and alternate strips need to be light and dark.

At breakneck NRL speed, I can see red & maroon causing problems.

Its just common sense to make your away jersey as far removed from your home one as possible.
