I was hoping it would be good, its alright, its not as good as some of the other indigenous jerseys, but its still miles better than the home jersey..

Better then ours from last year.

Twitter competition for Knights jersey vs Warriors

You can have your twitter handle on the back of their jersey (where sportsbet.com.au normally goes)

From the Wests Tigers Website:
The Wests Tigers are deliberately trying to identify a core design that embraces the history of both clubs. The black base of the jersey was a simple decision as it represents both Balmain and Western Suburbs, as does the chevron.

This information would have been nice to know before people wasted their time designing jerseys that didn't have a black base and chevron. It would have also encouraged some more inspirational versions using these two conditions.

Seriously, how good did the Warriors Wellington jersey look on the field?

Not just saying it because it's my town's black & gold colours, but really tasteful work there, Canterbury clothing.

No side-panels, a decent V, a tasteful strip of gold over the shoulders & reasonably unobtrusive piping.

It is an awesome jersey!

Looked awsome, the West Coast Pirates need look no further for inspiration for our NRL kit!

It was a decent jersey, but why the f**k should an Auckland team be wearing a Wellington jersey? It's like if Cronulla played a game at Gosford and wore the blue and gold of the Central Coast - it's disrespectful. I get that the Warriors are trying to expand their brand, and good on 'em, but there was something off about them wearing another city's colours.

They're the New Zealand Warriors dingus. They don't even wear Aucklands "colours" every other week anyway.

There was nothing off about. You're Cronulla-Gosford hypothetical is especially lol worthy.

You don't think Kiwis see them as an Auckland team? Ask one of them, you peanut. Tonight was the first bloody game they've ever taken out of the city!

And they haven't been the "New Zealand" Warriors for many years, you doodle.

It's a shame that the name & branding change from Auckland Warriors to NZ Warriors didn't bring games out to the rest of the country in 2000.

However at the time it was a "necessary" (quote-unquote) move to distance the new owners from the previous administration which left the club broke - I'm glad that they're making a move not to reflect that name a little more by taking a home game out of Auckland. Better late than never.

Hopefully they follow the lead of the Phoenix and take a game to Christchurch as well - that will go some way towards satisfying the non-Auckland public's desire to see top level rugby league. (If they wear a red & black jersey in Christchurch, that's fine with me.)

As for the jerseys.. it was in celebration of the event, and last year's centennary of Wellington Rugby League, and a nod to the late Bernie Wood - Wellington administrator & league historian.

As a Wellingtonian I actually felt quite honored that they used our colours for the night - it's the next best thing to going to see the Orcas in an NRL game.

Anyway, they've never worn Auckland colours for a long long time - heritage kits aside, I think the last time they ran out in a blue & white home jersey was pre-2000 (the Superleague Nike design) - and that had elements of green & red trim that aren't Auckland's provincial colours.

Oh, and your Cronulla argument is invalid, because they've never claimed to be the "Central Coast Sharks" so wearing Central Coast colours if they take a game there is a little out-of-step with their billing.

How good is this Penrith jersey. Love the brown. Completely unique in australian sport. So much better than their rubbish usual one that is so bland and looks just like so many other teams jerseys.

Brown is the most criminally underused colour in sport. I'd take that dark shade of brown over even the all-sorts colours any day.

Wests have a lot of black, warriors have a lot of black. The Panthers are struggling to establish their brand because they're so bland. The western suburbs are full of transplants who follower bigger more iconic teams. If the Panthers are ever going to establish themselves and grow they need build a unique brand.

Dark brown with a white V would be fantastic. Classical and unique at the same time.

Very quickly it would become associated with the Panthers. They could wear their current black bland crap for 100 years and it wouldnt sink in.

Go with the brown.

If Brown is so underused in Australian sport, why is the colour of one of AFL's most famous clubs, Hawthorn? :?
