A bit disappointed the Roosters wore their away strip tonight.

Other clubs have worn their main strip when the opposing team's colors do not clash.

The more traditional V patterned blue jumper would have rekindled many more memories for established fans and added greater recognition of the East Sydney Roosters. But I suppose that's the way things are these days.

The marketers do not respect the impact and effect of traditional strips and on a night such as tonight. This would have benefited the Roosters in many ways if the more traditional main strip was shown to a massive audience.

Perhaps it's good for the away strip sales. But I am thinking from a fan loyalty and recognition aspect that it mixes up the visual message that clubs are trying to capitalize on. A consistent and recognizable playing strip is long term "gold" from a fan loyalty and future fan attraction perspective.

Souths and Roosters have almost exclusively (except for the odd heritage jersey) worn home and away strips over the last few years. Souths wear black at ANZ, Roosters white... then at Allianz Roosters navy, Souths white.
