Everyone is in each group, just the two competitions will probably produce different winners.

For example, Brisbane will probably win the largest increase in members as they still need 10000ish to meet last years numbers.

But maybe Penrith or Cronulla will win the largest percentage increase (this is the pool i an more interested in)

Not to mention buying game day tickets to their first home game makes you a member.

That prize pool is bigger than the NRL finals series.

3/9 finals appearances post Freddy's retirement, a wooden spoon & arguably the worst 3-5 year period of bad press a club has ever received due to a ridiculous amount of poor off field behaviour. Our success is only a half truth, there has been no golden run unfortunately.

Also we are not Souths, they've made some intelligent strategic decisions that have played a part in their large membership base that I just wouldn't support our club doing.

Could our membership base be larger, sure but name me another club bar Souths who you couldn't say that about. Sustainable growth is what we're achieving year after year and in anyone's business model that's good news.

We also have a very large contingent of SFS members who are primarily Easts fans that don't sign up as they already have stadium membership.

I'd say the Warriors are the most under performing club in the NRL in regards to members. They have a massive away base and a whole city at home. They should easily be the biggest membership club in the NRL. There management needs a rocket!

Yeah i know Panthers are behind a lot of clubs . But the huge increase in such a short time with poor results the past few years is crazy. If we can become a consistent top 8 side, we should be able to keep the bulk of the members for the longterm and build on it. Our target next season should be 12,500 and then 15,000 for the following year. Results on the field will make it possible, another season of missing the 8 would probably make it hard to even get as many members as we have this year.

We have had way poorer results and way poorer recruiting, and we have more Members...

Not sure how anyone can deny the greatness that is Parramatta Members, tbh. We suck every season, and we still come back for more.

Yep. That's the one that really sticks out. They should be able to hit 20k at least.

Are these the same fans that wait outside in their hundreds at away games until half time to get free entry?

Warriors membership needs to pick up its act for sure, but easily the biggest membership in the NRL? Auckland is a city in a rugby dominant country with a population 600k shy of a league- heavy heartland like Brisbane.

Your claim is a tad delusional, PR. But we'll see what effect Eden Park has on that as it gets more and more games.

It could be argued that our traditional club membership is simply a fan buying a jersey or several. FWIW, I believe we are top dog in those stakes by a fair margin. A small offset to fewer bum's on seats but our marketers sure have targeted it.

Well put together

It is still early and the numbers should improve.

Some teams have to improve to even reach their totals from a few seasons back. The Dragons and Tigers are below their totals for season 2010. The Bulldogs, Raiders,, Sharks, Storm and Knights are below their 2011 figures.

While the Broncos, who should really dominate these numbers are behind their 2012 numbers.

I think the QLD Reds have 30k members atm. Work to do Brisbane...

Member Cash Back program generates more than $50,000 for local Queensland clubs
Queensland Rugby’s record 2012 membership growth and innovative ‘Member Cash Back’ offer has generated more than $50,000 for grassroots Rugby and local Queensland clubs.

Since the St.George Queensland Reds championship-winning heroics of 2011, a record 32,077 supporters have signed on to be a part of the Reds Army in 2012 – more than a 100 per cent increase on last year’s 15,626 members.

The unprecedented level of Reds membership has also assisted the growth of the Code in Queensland by injecting $51,845 into grassroots Rugby though the Member Cash Back program, which offers clubs across the state revenue for each Reds membership sold.

The Member Cash Back program is an important strategy within Queensland Rugby’s ‘One Rugby Economy’ pillar and is an annual opportunity for clubs to increase their revenue by promoting and selling Reds memberships.

To support the initiative, Reds members at the time of purchase were simply asked to nominate their respective Rugby club, who would then be entitled to a specific cash back amount dependent on the membership type.

Amounts varied from $10 for a non-ticketed Forever Reds membership to $50 for a Gold Family membership.

The final dollar amount was a significant increase of more than 225% from the 2011 tally, where $15,812 was raised in the inaugural year of the Member Cash Back offer.

A strong member base means so much more to Queensland Rugby than how many season ticket holders make up the group – membership is about creating and instilling a culture which is about belonging, commitment and loyalty to the Reds.

Ashgrove-based club GPS will collect the largest amount with their senior club receiving $3,030 cash back while their junior club will receive $3,635. Darling Downs Rugby Union will receive the largest amount among regional clubs with $2,325.

Clubs will receive their payments at the end of the Reds Asteron Life Super Rugby season with some clubs having already allocated their funds to purchasing jerseys and training equipment.

Very clever initiative.

Each NRL club should have a similar policy. Pick a club in your NRL clubs catchment area and they'll get an amount of cash in proportion to your membership.
