As a Magic fan I don't hate the trade but it's not exactly inspiring either. Harris is a decent player but hasn't been that great this year and has actually regressed on last years numbers. Basically we needed to re-sign him in the off-season because Millsap turned us down and we maybe overpaid him slightly.
Jennings and Ilyasova are just ok also, Jennings has his injury concerns and we don't have a huge need for him as you say McLovin with Payton etc pretty well established now. If they are just a stopgap which we will use as pieces in another trade that would make more sense to me.
Ideally I was hoping we might be able to flip Harris and a couple of others like Frye and maybe some picks and try to get Griffin, but that would have been pretty optimistic.
