Simona and Nofo make a huge difference. Lawrence to me is still a concern mainly because of the dropped balls.

Taupua was great.

It also makes you assess who are getting paid the big bucks. Cherrington isn't at Robbie's level but when you consider the dollars we are paying them it changes your perspective. Taupau is in the same boat when being compared to Woods.

According to you he is the best every week when at times he is rubbish, tonight he was better and did some good things apart from his dreadful defence:roll:

His defence was no better or worse than usual. Nofoaluma was very very bad in defence though. Jeez he needs to be hidden in defence. I'd consider swapping he and Naqaima. Naqaima is a much better tackler than Noffa and Noffa looks to me like he'd be more useful for us on the wing than the centres anyway taking kick return hit ups, coming in and relieving pressure. He doesn't need to be centre to be useful.

Ideally Seve kicks on and takes that centre spot or we sign someone so we can move forward with the plan being:

1. Tedesco
2. Nofoaluma
3. Seve
4. Simona
5. Naqaima

Gee, where the f**k has this been all year? Lots of positives to look at makes me a lot more optimistic for the rest of the season. What a change a week makes, lets see if we are all ready to slit our wrists next week.

In saying that there were some negatives. It was against a Rabbitohs side missing three of their best in Inglis, Luke and Stewart. I don't think we rumble through their middle like we did tonight if they are there.

That first Rabbitohs try was soft as hell and it looks like our right edge defence is still very shaky. Give Nufo some more time at centre and I think the defence will come.

Moses has some small flashes but needs to run it more and play at the line instead of before it all the time. He also came up with several defensive errors and some really poor kicks on the last. When are we going to stop putting up those nothing bombs? I am so sick of them. Our kick needs to be looking for repeat sets and putting pressure on the opposition.

Lawrence can still come up with some baffling handling errors and he needs to hold the ball tighter if he is taking more crash balls.

Positives though -

Galloway was good in his first stint with some really good charges which was a good change. Was much quieter in his second stint though.

Ava.S was really solid and played some good minutes. He should def be playing more minutes as the season progresses. Lodge was strong as well and got stuck in with some heavy contact, always good to see.

Tapau. Always has an impact but was at his damaging best tonight. Deserved man of the match.

The other forwards all did their job and Cherrington did not look out of place at all.

Our attack was much better with Brooks and the rest of the backline getting to play behind a forward pack going forward. With Simona and Nufo as our centres we actually have some speed and power when we go wide. Teddy was superb as well, saving trys and making heaps of good runs.

As a whole though, the team was running with purpose, making offloads and playing much more positively in attack than previously. Our defence was better but I think that was because we just did a whole lot less of it. When you score you get the ball back and they have to defend another set. When your forwards are on top you play at their end and the opposition doesn't get a strong attacking kick. I think we had one line dropout the entire game and just had way more possession of the ball.

Tremendous performance, even more so considering where we've come from the last few weeks.
Souths were off their game, and we deservedly put them to the sword.

Agree Mate.. some other very negative things were when 18-6 up we turned down 2 kicks at goal and luckily we got a try on the third occasion when we should have set for a field goal.. sounds irrelevant now but that shit has been costing us games and seems we have learnt zero from it.
Ohhh and yea Lolrence is still shit no matter where he plays.

Wow.Im in disbelief @ what I just saw. That was a very pleasant surprise. If we can back that up with a win @ Brookvale it will be standing room only @ Leichhardt in 2 weeks although I'm not getting carried away just yet.

Taupau & Teddy were magnificent.Special thanks to Brownie for getting the best out of Lodge.Rowdy is streets ahead of Siro as a 2nd rower & Ava was very good.Simona & Nofa are indispensable.Moses is still a cause for much concern.

Regret not having some of that 11/1 on teddy for 1st try scorer.

3 - Taupau
2 - Teddy
1 - Ava

Won't get the plaudits of some of the others, but thought Lovett was tremendous tonight. Made yards after contact, strong in defence, swept up at the back a few times. If he can add some good line/hole running to his game we might have a proper footballer on our hands.

All of our forwards were great, what a difference it makes when they all play well.

I thought Ava was outstanding, played long minutes but made a huge impact. Constantly made metres after contact, was very aggressive.

It was interesting how the constant bombs actually worked in our favour tonight. We must have gotten 3-4 repeat sets on their goaline from dropped bombs.
My thoughts from the game:

- Simona makes a huge difference and is linking up with Teddy really nicely
- Tapau just keeps getting better. I hope a contract extension will be settled before next season.
- Lawrence is looking good in the back row. I feel he will improve.
- Ava really impressed. Hope he can keep it up.

Moses was disgraceful tonight.

Everyone else, well done

Yeah he was pretty average. He is the one player I feel cannot be contained to a set structure. It would be great to see a game where Taylor just says, "alright Moses, go nuts, play whatever is in front of you and don't hold back".
