What I don't understand is why they need an insentive of possibly getting a team in the city to go to a game? Don't you go to games for the experience of seeing it live? Not to get a team in the city

Selling out or not selling out one game a year isn't going to really decide whether Perth gets a team or not...

I think they need more than 5,000 people watching NRL games on FTA TV to demonstrate there is some interest there...

Let's be honest here. Perth should have a team. And when you go from 25 people at Moore park to 20 odd thousand at NIB its hard to argue.

The hilarious beauty of this is that the microcosm of LU, which by no means speaks for the majority of the NRL, are so jaded and sick to the back teeth of the relentless bullshit that comes from Perth Red that almost everyone is opposed to PERTH RUGBY LEAGUE whatever the objective benefits thanks solely to the whinging pommy arsehole.

Anyone that uses this afternoons crowd in an argument is an idiot whose opinion shouldn't be bothered with. As a result I have no idea what you wrote in the second paragraph

Today's crowd is an anomaly as a result of extreme weather. The fact 3.6k people turned up is amazing seeing as though everyone in Sydney was told not to be going out anywhere today

The death riding of teams in the hope they fold to allow Perth to have a team is really a good way for people like Perth Red to win support from other clubs for a Perth team you'd have to say.

Back to crowd numbers though. Do people seriously think moving the Sharks from a ground they own to a one hour train ride away plus a walk will result in bigger crowds? Roosters fans can't even travel 15 mins to games normally...

There were f**king swimming pools at a Perth game a couple years back and the crowd was still bigger than today's. Sharks played in a f**king hurricane like conditions a few years back and still got a bigger crowd the a team playing in a stadium with plenty more undercover seats.

Could have been a roof on the stadium. Not much you can do when people can't get to the f**king ground because of the weather.

No Sharks have to play in the Shire, it just needs a slight facelift at some point, so they can get 20k crowds on occasion, not sure how though.

I've been to a ~4000 Warriors crowd. Sometimes there's a lot of circumstances that just matter more than getting out of bed and into the stadium. I drove us to the game, arrived sweating, my mum and I decided to BUY a ticket in a covered section, as ticket holders.

Everyone was allowed up, but there's game where you have to take it. That is exactly how this crowd should feel. Sucks, but it's life.

No.

Everyone knows crowd are a factor people will look at when considering Perth's argument. Stands to reason that people who want representation would go to show their support for the idea of a new team.

When Sydney FC play in Wollongong, for example, most of the crowd are neutrals who want to show the FFA that people in the area support soccer thus making a case that they deserve an a-league team.

What I really don't understand is how someone who posts in a crowd thread could not understand something that simple.
