Seemed a fair few outside, lots of Queenslanders, I suppose as soon as word spread about cheap tix many that live in Sydney decided to come along. Just like origin 3 2014 @ Suncorp.

Looks great on tv. Crowd will be bagged by 14 tragics in this thread. Meanwhile 2 million people on tv will think it's a packed house

Very patchy near the blatchy's.... That was probably the loudest roar I have heard for a Qld try at ANZ.

Yeah I see a lot of maroon on tv. We've given up here in nsw, waiting for Thurson & Smith to retire before we start going back to the Origin LOL

Given the circumstances - dead rubber, 1 series win in 11 years etc etc... looks pretty decent

Not when the tickets are giveaways.

Need to rethink Sydney getting two games in a series. MCG can hold more and would actually fill.

I won't pretend tickets weren't given away but people still turned up. Still bought merch, still bought food & beverage. This argument is so mundane and weak.

61,267 people still went to Origin despite it being a dead rubber. Many were expecting sub-50k.

As for your last line, do you know the basics about the Origin schedule? Both states get reduced home allocations now due to every 3 years being an alternate venue 3rd game. MCG had it 2015 and will again in 2018.

Food and beverage wtf?

If Sydney can't fill Origin then they shouldn't get it. A premium product deserves premium attention, someone Sydney cannot give.

Queensland couldn't fill a 52k seat stadium last time they hosted and losing dead rubber, and that's after a decade of dominance. Id like to see a comparison between a 3/4 full origin match and a 3/4 full gws giants match

No freebies were tossed out though. False equivalence.

Sydney needs to induce people to go. There is no real desire to see their team play. It is a sad state of affairs.

No freebies?

Your bias in this discussion could not be plainer. :joy::joy::joy:

An old high school acquaintance of mine works at the casino in Brisbane in some kinda low management role. Remember seeing on Facebook at the time that he and some work mates were given some tickets and went. Don't really think he follows footy but presumably went for the Blues.

Haha that's not a source. For that origin 3 in 2014, they reduced tickets behind the posts from 220 to 125.....

Not 478 to 50.
