its brutal

so when the games are night games etc if there is a hint of rain about it kills the crowd because Canberra stadium isn't all that good coverage wise. so you will get wet unless you pay more than a lot of families can afford.
when its fine....its actually colder. but atleast you aren't wet. but legit i went to a game two years ago that it was 0 at the ground at kickoff and this was the middle of the arvo.
and its all concrete and its just f**kn cold man.

they dont promote like you think they would. they are pretty lazy in that regard IMO. same adds for years. don't do family promotions etc to my knowledge
brumbies do more.

brumbies play a lot of their games at night in the shit winter weather because other teams, even the kiwi ones hate going there to play. its part of it. and the brumbies have been much more consistently relevant that the raiders. even though its the super rugby.

The raiders fans are really bandwagon types too.
Canberra in general. like people who don't go for two years but then all went to that tigers semi etc or the sharks semi

what would help the raiders is the pipe dream proposal of the indoor fortsyth barr style stadium in the city.
then atleast you can go to stuff in the city before/after and its not freezing cold in the ground.

a lot of Canberra people just aren't engaged by the Raiders tho. from my experience of having lived here my whole life

like, the difference in support for the Raiders and the Knights in terms of one team towns etc

The only thing the Raiders really need to do is win consistently
Everything else will take care of itself.
The Brumbies are a winning franchise .. yet in.key markers are barely ahead of the Raiders who have had no success in 20 years.
Brand wagoners exist at every club & aren't anymore prevalent down here then anywhere else.
We start winning consistently.
Fans will re engage because everyone loves a winner.

Want to put a bet on that the three games in Perth this year will avg significantly more than the pathetic effort by sharks fans today? Lol, I thought not.

This has as much relevance as the stats to the last time Perth had a team, 1997.
Home average crowd:
Perth 8776
Cronulla 13558

With the difference in populations of the two areas you would think that Perth could draw more.

Worth noting as well that the Reds second most popular game ever was against the Sharks with 20 odd thousand.
I thought PR would love us for that.
Oh that's right he wasn't around when his basket case of a team was.

What a great night last night was! I love those low crowd games.

A couple of tins with a few of the boys in the man cave, strolled down to the ground. No queue to get in, no queue for beers or food, heaps of empty seats so you could stretch your legs, beat a bunch of grubs, catch up with some mates in the leaguesy, mingle with some of the players and staff then stroll home. Golden!

From my vantage point in the SW corner, it looked like more Eels than Tigers (maybe 60/40). The SE corner was very full of Eels, and the Parra chant was significantly louder. Mind you, the Tigers gave us very little to chant about...

Yeah 50/50 as being generous to the Tigers.

more closer to 55/45 to the Eels

Also it's not just winning with Canberra although that's a major component. It's the fact that every star player has turned out to be a deadshit. All clubs lose players so the loss of the Milford's can be taken but every promising player has been a huge merkin outside of that.

A class act like Blake Austin who is out working in the community and doing good things is going to help bring the crowds back

Another great thing about last night was PERTH REDS head would have been spinning. His beloved Storm got rolled to the Sharks in a half empty suburban ground. Bliss!

There will be more than 16k at Pepper and also in Belmore if the weather is good. At CBUS expect a bigger crowd as-well.

The game is at Pirtek and since Panthers fans dont travel i think ill stick with my prediction on that one.

Belmore is on a monday night so i think it will be about 16 maybe 17k if we are lucky.

At Cbus i hope you are correct, would love to be proven wrong. Anything over 17k at Cbus would be great.

Broncos vs Titans tickets are going ok.

Still one end is unsold, but the rest is about 80% sold.

Wouldn't the venue open that end behind of posts if 80% of the rest of ground has sold? Seems a bit odd. Unless there's more to with the contracts between Titans and the venue I suppose.

They did have one bay highlighted in the closed off bay as "away bay" last night as the first one had sold out. But it has since disappeared and away bay is coming up as alloc exhausted. I think they will try sell out the vacant seats in the eastern stand for cheaper as it would work out cheaper for the nrl to fire-sell them than open the other stand.
