Are the grounds the same size dimensions?
They could play double headers

I think the dimensions are the same, but the markings on the field are completely different so they can't do double headers.

At the end of the day the only way any double headers, duel memberships or duel tickets get up is if the Raiders, Brumbies, ACT government, NRL, ARU, ARLC, WR, Nine and Fox all came together and agreed to let it happen.

As of yet that has never happened because one or more groups uses the ideas as an opportunity to try and get one over the others and then fighting rips the idea apart at the seams.
However if the Raiders and Brumbies were owned by the same group/person that would be a step towards some of these ideas coming to fruition, and with the Brumbies and the ARU in the Financial struggles that they have been in for the last few years an opportunity may come open for the Raiders group to jump in and attempt to buy into the Brumbies, but if things got that bad the Brumbies and ARU would be more likely to let the Tuggeranong Vikings buy a larger share and take more control then they are to let the Raiders group take any control at all, even if the Raiders buying in would be better for them then if the Vikings took over.

That's basically a long winded way of saying that none of these ideas will ever get up because of stupid cross code rivalries and sports politics, despite the fact that all these ideas could be great gains for ACT sport and for the Raiders, Brumbies, ARU and NRL.

London RL played a few double headers in SL when they became the Quinn's abomination.

Yeah, but they were both the Harlequins, which is part of the problem in Canberra.

If the Raiders and Brumbies were both owned by the same group I'd give the double headers, duel memberships, etc, a hope, but their not.

They are direct competitors in a small market.
There is no benefit in helping the other & they won't.
The Brumbies struggle financially .. have for years.
The Raiders backed by an empire away from football don't

The Raiders are in the box seat to eventually win this battle.
They don't want to . Or need to help the Brumbies.

As long as RU exists in Australia it will exist in Canberra.

Canberra is the Strongest RU area in Australia by far, RU's success in Canberra is inextricably linked to it's success in Australia, so unless the ARU is forced to let the Brumbies die or the ARU it's self falls over and is forced to pull out of Super Rugby, RU's standings in Canberra aren't going to dramatically change, no matter what the Raiders do.

So their is no point wasting time and energy trying to kill them or outlast them because that is outside of the Raiders control, it's better to focus our energies on things we can control and that is to use them to our advantage as much as possible.

In other words at this point both the Raiders and the Brumbies cannot beat each other so it's better to join each other and work together, especially when their is a foreign competitor trying to muscle in on to their turf that they can beat if they work together, in GWS.

The Raiders wouldn't waste their time or resources trying to eliminate the Brumbies
As you say toff ball is here to stay in the Capital.
But they don't need to be part of any leg up programs either

The Raiders can withstand & absorb financial losses far better then the Brumbies who will eventually struggle to assemble squads of the calibre of their present one due to lack of funds.

And I.hope the GWS midgets can keep draining the AFL of capital for as,long as they can.
They'll never do anything but be a,burden
Good riddance to them & the AFL

The big question is though, who will win the war? We should ask IBM.

Sorry... I'll grow up one day
