you mentioned Sydney

sydney this

sydney that

im assuming in a pathetic attempt to indicate Sydney can't draw a crowd
wednesday shows what a clueless clown you are !!

K : )

Tbf Sydney drew a decentt crowd for college American football, Sydney loves an event but not so hot on week in week out supporting their rugby league clubs.

Can we throw PR, ECT and Cumberland Throw in their own little discussion? It's f**king draining every time coming in here and seeing the same repetitive bullshit

You dont want commentry or opinion on crowds in a crowd thread? Suggest you are in the wrong forum lol

Suburban ground 1 Sydney team losing 3 straight games. I reckon 10 is a pass mark. Pass isn't great it's 50 percent so pike down.

The home team today has 2 supporter bases.

The other team is from what, only 170kms away? Regardless, you shouldn't be relying on other teams fans to boost your home crowds.

Even the weather looked spectacular today.

And the term is 'pipe down' not 'pike down' champ.

did i hear 10,100 odd at Kogarah ?

cripes ...
Being at the ground it did not feel empty while we got into it in the second half we the dragons made a big comeback. The hill would have looked packed on the fox telecast. The NRL need more Sunday footy. They need two time slots at 2pm 4pm for NSW QLD each, for better ratings and for crowds.

All true but the undercurrent of discontent with the club is palpable irrespective of early season form.

Given the weather, you're right, 10k is below par but hardly catastrophic. 11-13k would've been par for the course

Warriors 13,476 ok
Wests 6,891 embarrassing
Cowboys 17,876 very good
Canberra 15,652 good
Roosters (Adelaide) 21,492 excellent
Dragons 10,174 poor
Sharks 14,766 good

Raiders game temp was about 6 degrees
So 15+ is outstanding

Shark almost 15k against Manly was also very good
You've obviously never tried getting from manly to Cronulla and back.
No train line on the northern beaches.
So it would be bus trains bus/walk
Or drive in the worst traffic in Australia.
So it is was basically a 90% sharks crowd
Considering our members total is 15k
That crowd was very good.

Even the dragons game wasn't too bad.
Newcastle would've had virtually no fans.
2 o o'clock kick off on a Sunday makes it hard for families with kids who actually play footy.
The under 13 and up play Sunday's .
Anywhere from 10am to 2pm kick off.

...and they are playing combined comps all around Sydney.
It not like they can just pop next door after their game to watch first grade.

...and people just can't afford to go to the footy.
It's expensive.
3 mid strength beers cost me $19 yesterday.

Without context the WT v GC crowd is embarrassing, but when you actually put it into context - the temperature, form of both sides, ladder position, just shy of 7k is actually pretty good. I was expecting 4k.

In regards to the overall average - every single public holiday during an NRL season should be utilised for long term event games with the aim that we have multiple 'ANZAC Day' calibre events a year.
Every team should be guaranteed at least 1 public holiday event game.

Currently they are underutilised and some teams get 2 home games falling on holidays while others get none.
There are QLD, Vic and ACT only holidays that are currently totally ignored.

Listen to you correcting sayings now. Another 1500 -2000 people in the ground and it would have looked really full.

Another Sydney team would have had at least that number in fans attend.

I actually went to game so I couldn't see the Hill from the other side. Not like you watching from home you pompous fool!!
