Great idea.
But you think the NRL has that kind of power? Wouldn't the clubs just call a meeting and tell the media they are going to remove the NRL chairman?

But wouldn't they need 15 of the 16 clubs or something to remove the Chairman, and the Qld clubs always stick together to support Grant?

Can the AFL let GWS, Suns and the Lions know?

Their basket case sitting at the bottom of the table in a RL mad city is still drawing more than half the NRL clubs! And lets not get onto the well supported comparisons shall we. I'd be happy with an NRL avg of 34k as opposed to our current sub 15k avg wouldn't you?

If the NRL had any smarts they would have tied the substantial club funding increase they agreed to with a number of conditions, on the road games being one of them. But no one ever accused them of being smart.

Raiders game temp was about 6 degrees
So 15+ is outstanding

Shark almost 15k against Manly was also very good
You've obviously never tried getting from manly to Cronulla and back.
No train line on the northern beaches.
So it would be bus trains bus/walk
Or drive in the worst traffic in Australia.
So it is was basically a 90% sharks crowd
Considering our members total is 15k
That crowd was very good.

Even the dragons game wasn't too bad.
Newcastle would've had virtually no fans.
2 o o'clock kick off on a Sunday makes it hard for families with kids who actually play footy.
The under 13 and up play Sunday's .
Anywhere from 10am to 2pm kick off.

...and they are playing combined comps all around Sydney.
It not like they can just pop next door after their game to watch first grade.

...and people just can't afford to go to the footy.
It's expensive.
3 mid strength beers cost me $19 yesterday.

it was cooooold out there at the raiders.

Based on seemingly fudged figures(the Lions) and losing money hand over foot.Even Ikin on 369 acknowledged the AFL was pouring absolute millions upon millions into the Suns. For what, still ordinary crowds, pathetic Nthn Ratings, and likewise the Gnats.
The Swans with their Sydney crowd ,still can't crack a decent Nth TV ratings and the've been here 35 years. And some Melbourne clubs are losing money.AFL clubs lost over $90m last year.Yet you continue to sing there praises as though everything is rosy.
Heaven help the Swans have a couple of Lions type years in the comp.

You still haven't come up with a practical ,economical strategic plan, just a strategic whinge.

Ironically your probably right, 8 years of being led up the garden path is a good recipe for stopping caring.

Led up the garden path!!! Or expecting things to happen just because you say so more like it .
.Other issues happen to need urgent attention. Situations change .ask politicians re the economy.
Adelaide were flicked ,they should be bitching .

Try salary caps,RLPA negotiations, digital, negelected grassroots sale of clubs ,new stadiums .But no ,it must be Perth ,first second and third, everything else can wait.

TBH Brisbane 2 needs inclusion before any other area.

If Gallop was dopey enough ATT to make expansion suggestions, when he negotiated crap Tv deals, then thank Betsy he's gone. Who was in charge 8 years ago FFS?
If you've got issues sorted out and have the money available ,expand by all means.
But don't do the 'A fool and his money is easily parted."

With respect this is the same reason Central Coast proponents gave after getting thrown scraps for 10 years and were told that wasn't good enough and they should turn up regardless...

Now it's ok because the same happened to Perth?
