Every sport is stagnating though, not just us. Super rugby union crowds have halved since the early 2000's in this country, afl averaged more in 1997 than 2016, A league goes up and down and is back on a downward spiral, we had been hanging onto our crowds quite consistently until this year. We have so many things we could do better though which would all result in a rise in crowds.
If you say so. Haven't watched TV this week.
I'd say they are counted as they are pre paidDo Stadium capacity/crowd number include those in corporate boxes?
yep
attending sport live these days is a burden on the hip pocket
paying $60 a month & watching every bit of sport you want in yr living room is much cheaper
Exactly. It costs $50 just in tickets for me, partner, daughter. That on it's own is a lot for a single income family and more for 1 game than a month of the sport package on foxtel.
But that's like saying you can get iTunes for a fraction of the price of a concert ticket or a take away prepared meal from woolies cheaper than going to a restaurant. The two are not comparable, or shouldn't be if the experience is worth going for.
It matters when you have a budget to consider. Football is a luxury and I weigh up the $$$ very carefully. The 3 of us are ticketed members so we go to as many home games as possible but not away games or neutral.
Thanks for thatI'd say they are counted as they are pre paid

Beats me, first film I could think of that's on DVD and still in cinemas.who would want to watch Beauty and the Beast

This is misleading IMO. Rugby crowds have went backwards because the sport is essentially dying on this country. Playing numbers, TV viewers and crowds are all dropping.
I also don't think the A league is the best comparison. Soccer is a second rate sport in this country and its crowds reflect that.
The NRL should be compared with sports people actually care about. AFL crowds are stagnate but they're stagnate at a level well above ours. Im also assuming that GWS and the suns would be dragging down the average so the rest of the rams must be up if crowds are stagnate.
The only other big sport is cricket and big bash crowds have exploded in size over the past few years.
But you've just said our main competitor is stagnate
So why should we be different ?
who would want to watch Beauty and the Beast
I haven't actually looked at their crowds closely enough. If you take out the GWS and suns how do their crowds look? Have they stagnated overall or has expanding into unfriendly markets made the average look stagnate.
Regardless there is a difference between having your crowds stagnate around 35K compared to just 16K.
