A 4 day bucks party. WTF.
Mate, you're a flipping endurance athlete.I lasted a day, and they threw me to the soldier crabs in Gunnamatta Bay near the dressing sheds ,with only a pair of undies on.

Not too bad
Camping weekend down the coast on the beach.

What facts? 25k when there's 50k seats doesn't equal a capacity crowd because you decided to count multiple days.
You said or at best inferred 25k total, not 25k per day, slight difference.

The rah rah have been trying to keep RL off Eden Park for decades. The dilution of union influence on the Trust has been a long, long term proposition.

The rah rah in NZ were worried RL could also draw capacity crowds to the ground on the rare occasions we were permitted to use it. Eg. RLWC Final 1988 which was at capacity.

I said the event brought in 25k which it did, the point was the capacity wasn't anywhere near being full, 25 is 25k, especially when most tickets sold were double passes so it was the same people. Anyone who thinks Auckland is going to turn out in the 50k level for an NRL game when the only consistent drawcard for the stadium is the All Blacks is delusional. It's also no secret that Duco have considered swapping the Union 10's with the League 9's events so that the NRL is in Brisbane and the Union is in Auckland.

Why not gain back fans and have the Bears playing out of the Central Coast. Any other way will only piss off existing established fan bases. These established fanbases have already been "terrorised" by mergers and relocation talk. Surely putting the code through more embarrassment and pain is not the way to go? !

Because we don't need another NSW team - there are already 10

The negative messages associated with diluting the code and it's longstanding rivalries is not condusive to fans being positive and embracing the NRL competition. When the merging and carve ups occured do you honestly think it sent a positive image about the NRL competition? It disn't! It sent negativity about this much loved rugby league competition to all sorts of casual and loyal fans. That has impacted poorly on the code and its regard within the general community. People asked "Why are they doing this? Is there something wrong?" It did a massive amount of damage and passed many people off.

Yet the league crowd averages are about the same and the TV ratings and revenue have increased - so you are incorrect the game has moved forward

Because the union in Brisbane was watched by 2 men and a dingo. Keep digging, Sherlock. You were a tough one to pick too btw... lol
