Titans shouldn’t stuck with Toowoomba. Really planted a flag there.

Makes sense as a second home for them, could take a game there every year.

Dotted lines on a map ..??

It's 450 km from gold coast to coffs ..

Mackay is a world away

I'd say assuming the Titans will draw significant support from Northern NSW because they are close is more dotted line philosophy than suggesting taking a game to Redcliffe or Mackay.

Maybe we should be trying to push the Titans and Knights rivalry. There isn't one but based on geography there should be.

Northern NSW and QLD doesn't work as an identity. It's all nice and well to think the proximity would work in their favour but I find people from Northern NSW hate shit out of Queensland more than they hate Sydney! Look at the reception Inglis got from primary schoolers all those years ago lol.

There's a shitload of nice little grounds in QLD. Kawana, Browne Park, Mackay etc*, Hell, how good would an NRL game be at Dolphin Oval?

I would have though Oakes oval at Lismore would have been a great venue for today’s game but it was going through upgrade works late last year so not sure whether they are finished yet but as you say the Northern NSW and QLD might not work. The Gold Coast played a trial game there against Parramatta years ago.

Can guarantee that... I'm from Ballina and we hate QLD with a passion here.

Mt smart sold out for the wc semi last year. i doubt it would have attracted 40k yesterday and Eden park is "popular" because it's the premier stadium in the city not because it's a great stadium. It's bound to have the biggest crowds in the city because the unholy vortex of boredom plays their big games there.

well I think it would of got 40K
but we'll beg to differ

Take the league crowd comparison out it's irrelevant but honestly 33k when we're told how many thousands were on waiting lists to buy season tix?

Not for the dockers, your thinking of the eagles who still don’t have enough seats to cover demand for season memberships.

As said this was a Suns home game so all had to pay. I’m sure no-one is losing sleep of “only” 33k turning up!

How’d the NRL approve this as a venue?!

I’m all for taking games to the bush, and understand the Titans circumstances, but couldn’t we at least find a ground where you can have people viewing on all sides?

We need better standards than this.

Haha we have the likes of brookvale as regular nrl grounds, the standards are very low!

Great for the locals, absolute amateur hour for nrl.

Anz looking glorious as ever. Can’t wait till it’s redeveloped, we will clearly be able to see just how steep all those empty seats will be!

Hard to say which looked worse today, the amateur club ground in Q’land or the empty stadium in Sydney. Couldn’t get much different to some of the other games this weekend.
