that's the reason why ANZ doesn't get good crowds

its not an excuse for a sunny sunday arvo western derby barely cracking 10K there

Then don’t hold it at ANZ it is literally the worst ground to watch games there. I’ll only ever go there if it is absolutely essential (meaning SOO, GF or a prelim). Every game I’ve been to at ANZ I’ve hated the experience.

sitting in the lower tier from try line to try line either side , & its just about as good as any ground going around
you aren't far from the sideline & sight lines are pretty good.
the rest of seats from there range from .. meh , to appalling

for anyone to say they won't watch their team play because of the venue tho
is lame & pathetic

I went to the game.
I had to take 3 trains and a bus to get there. Same on the way back.
I'm not even that far away from Homebush, ffs! I live in Balmain!
I could have driven, but that's an extra $20-$25 I have to pay for parking. That shit adds up over a whole year of attending games.

I can understand why people are turned off going to games when they have to put up with shit like that. By the time I got home I was more pissed off that there were no trains straight from Olympic Park to the city (had to change at Lidcombe, then that train terminated at Central and had to change again to get to Town Hall) than I was about my team losing their 5th straight game.

If your team is doing well, yeah people will make some effort to come and see them...but who want to put p with that shit when all you get to see when you get there is your team losing once again.

Well done. That's the type of information that's required to enlighten some on this thread. It's a very different proposition in a city like Melbourne whereby the Public transport (Rail and trams) are so much better and simpler to travel in. It makes a big difference.

A few years ago in the charity shield they had a stage setup behind the Ingoals... That shows how far you are back

Yeah it works while the Easter show or something is on
Partly because of trains to the city. Without this it adds a huge amount of time to get there and back. I went out to the dogs v cows last year on a Thursday and didn’t get home until midnight. More than two hours after the game finished. Compared to last Good Friday where it took forty minutes.

So this week,

The Gong and NZ to approach sell outs? Or at least 20,000 in NZ.

Penrith to draw a good crowd.

The rest to be average?

Newcastle building momentum, a real Cinderella story... let’s give them 6 of their first 8 away

You would think the Roosters vs Rabbits local derby would get a reasonable crowd but they schedule it for a Thursday night, sheeez.. Friday night or Sunday arvo would have been a great turn out.

These are 2 foundation clubs and are our oldest rivarly. This should be a huge match every time. Thursday night isn't ideal but it's a copout to suggest that's the only reason this games crowd will struggle so much.

When the wanderers are facing Sydney FC you have it plastered everywhere telling you how big of a rivalry it is. That's why it gets such a good crowd each time.

Meanwhile this rabbits v roosters match is going by with barely a mention. It's treated like any other match when it should be close to if not the biggest regular season game of the year.

At this point I think even 20K seems uncertain which is disgraceful.

I've been to enough grounds to work out I hate ANZ. It's just a terrible match experience. Rather attend another game as a neural at a stadium that is nice and gives me a good match day experience. ANZ just doesn'tYou couldn't pay me enough to voluntarily attend a regular match at ANZ.

Can guarantee that... I'm from Ballina and we hate QLD with a passion here.
So how do you/they see the Titans... are they a Qld team, or do they represent northern NSW. Seems identity is an issue for the Titans, as it seems a lot of Qlders don't see them as a Qld team either, Me, I don't give a rats either way because the whole geography of your footy club has bevomr irrelevant with players moving around for opportunity, but it does seem important to some, maybe a lot actually.

That's a genuine factor against people attending your. Wow the people marketing this game ate really not considering the financial impost to fans.
seriously, do you think its the nrl charging for parking?? Its not their stadium. Not everything in the world is the NRLs fault.... but very piss poor if it is.

20k is laughable,it will be 12k tops. I’m a Souths member and I just don’t want to go to out there on a Thursday night to sit in an empty stadium and then piss about with trains to get home.
I will see how I feel on the day.

Cant speak for everyone but I also grew up on the north coast a bit further south than Ballina and when the Titans entered the comp anyone who didn't already fully support a club picked them up, and they were at least a second team for a large majority of the town

Titans definitely have an identity issue when it comes to NSW vs QLD, obviously they are technically a QLD team, but they have more (or if not just as many) NSW rep players than QLD ones, and most junior clubs on the North Coast are aligned with them, they also wear blue..

Theres no way a club could be based on the north coast full time, the drive to the Goldie isn't that bad to go to day time games a couple times a year, but the titans should definitely be taking some of their games down the coast to strengthen and build their supporter base, maybe even a name change to gold coast - northern rivers titans (or similar) could be beneficial

can you read?
where does it say mile LOL

I'm starting to think you're illiterate haha

Kilometres - ahhh, my bad
The Sydney area covers 12,368 square kilometres
Or 4,775 square miles

So slightly more than 50 square kilometres
Apologies, I was blinded by the stupidity of your original post.
I will try harder next time

They need to advertise that there will be free beer handed out
The joint would be rockin'

Get VB's sponsorship to actually be useful for once

It's interesting... the Titans are well liked down here. They make an ok effort down our way, however it could be improved. I lived (until my trip round Aus) a toss the park from Ballina Seagulls and the Titans would come down and have open sessions school visits etc

They arent really seen as a "QLD" team as such. We are blue through and through but there is large support for the Titans

A lot of Northern NSW would rather the border move south. Would still hate Queenslanders if that makes any sense.
