Greenburg, and Smith to some degree, have made this bed, now they can lie in it. Two great crowds followed by two appalling ones.

On the plus side the sht KO time means I'm still at work and not watching it lol

How do the NRL expect a good crowd at this time on a Friday night?

They don't care. They've got the TV money which pays their salaries and expenses and nice offices so why should they care if fans can get to games or not? Id have thought after the abject failure of the NRl to deliver on the last strat plan to grow crowds to a modest 20k avg you would have realised that?

What an appalling crowd.

Would 6pm Friday work for regional/bush games?

Seems to work ok in Newcastle, perhaps Sydney teams could use it as a chance to take a home game to the bush?

I've actually been thinking this for a while Herby.
This Fri 6 pm match should be the premium time slot for taking games to the bush. Bush games nearly always sell out. They create a buzz in the region and fans do whatever they can to attend.
I'm sure they would do the same even for this horrible game time.
Imagine being in towns like Dubbo, Parkes, Orange, Bathurst, Tamworth, Wagga etc..... on a Friday afternoon. Pubs would be full before and after the game. Restaurants would do a roaring trade.
It's a no brainer really.

No they should give it up, meet the TV contract but get creative

16 games in NZ (12 Warriors + 4 other cities)
5 games in Perth (7:30 local time 9:30pmAEST)
3 games at Newy
2 games in the regional spots

No team should have to endure a 6pm Friday evening KO in any of the major cities!

Yep. Split it between regional centres, Newcastle, Canberra & Auckland. Shouldn’t be a game held anywhere else.

You want every Auckland game at 8pm on a Friday? Not very fair to their fans, should get some day games as well.

Would have got 20,000 in Newy for what it is worth. We seem to do alright with 6pm Friday.

There is an easy sub 10k crowd here

Speaking of Newy. A fair few fans would have went to the soccer tonight which further reduced the attendance for this 6pm game in Sydney. But it's diabolical to expect an out of town team in Newcastle to bring along fans for a 6pm game in Sydney. The 6pm games must be local teams as much as possible. Although Newcastle people don't mind this timeslot in Newcastle as the traveling is less arduous than in Sydney and plenty of families attend this timeslot.

20K isn't modest
it would nearly get the NRL into the top 10 attendance averages in world sport
