Not its not expensive (a bottle of 750ml Yellow is $3 in bulk ffs!) 60ml wine serving thats less than 50c a glass. Its not breaking the bank lol.
and yes it happens all the time so no it isn't illegal lol. Plenty of events I have been to where you get a or a number of free drinks voucher as part of the admission.

Why wouldnt a venue allow it? The club is paying for it, the venue will be very happy to supply it.

geez its hard work in here some days
It must be hard work if you can't think beyond your own limited sphere.

Venues like sports stadia have licensing regulations they have to adhere to. RSA laws apply.

And again it comes back to why a club would outlay such an exorbitant amount of money on the off-chance some mums might abandon their kids for free booze (which arguably wouldn't work in any great number)... and likely not even break-even and still have a shit crowd?

He wants the clubs to buy Roses in bulk for mother’s day ...to just give away.

The second most expensive time of the year to purchase roses I’d imagine.

Along with free glasses of champers and free entry.

Maybe the teams should play polo instead .

Imagine a club like Cronulla or Manly doing that and wiping out the income they'd make from attracting such a crowd

The two 8k games are CvC, the 9k one is the Eels v Titans match in 2013. I think 8.5-9k is likely.

The curtain raiser will be Manly's U16 (Harold Matts Premiers) v Western Rams (CRL Andrew Johns Cup premiers), kickoff 11:45am

Trouble is ,he has difficulty imagining Cronulla doing anything.
He doesn't want em.He wants them to walk the plank of oblivion.

Yeh marketing and event making. What a stupid idea!

The alternatives:
A) except sht crowds on mothers day
B) dont play games on mothers day

Only stupid people would do nothing and expect a different outcome

Not true, I think it would be perfectly acceptable for them to be a feeder club in the NSW cup to a bigger club, like say the Dragons :)

You can continue to wish upon a star, but a self sufficient community Shark's NRL club ain't going anywhere soon.Tell him he's dreaming .
Another 220 units ,a 75 room hotel all just recently been given DA approval, which adds further to the profits of the Leagues club via the large development now 880 units, which in turn helps underpin the football club .
We also don't have to repay the NRL for a $6m loan.

Your proposed team, what's it called again? just needs to be fed. It's starving ATM.
Let em eat cake.

If you actually had read the discussions on the topic since Sunday you'd know that several people, myself included, have advocated for either A or B.
