Basically only level 7 caxton st + restricted view + standing room to go at Suncorp.

A few blocks being released that were held back sporadically, IE in 536, 604 and 724.

The Dragons average was inflated by the Anzac Day game. Without that they are on par with Panthers and Bulldogs.
And the Roosters next year. And Dragons year after. Same with Canterbury and souths with good Friday. They exist you can't just keep removing them.
Looking at manlys avg it looks like the dh are in those figures
As I said, the NRL's official figures were all over the place when it comes to Double Headers, it's not as simple as "they counted them" or they didn't. Their figures varied between the different Double Headers.

yes it looks like it.

50% of the clubs are below where they need to be (15k which isnt asking a lot surely), 6 of that 8 are Sydney clubs. Sht form plays a big part but geez there is a lot of ground to make up. Its hard to see things being much better than this current purple period for Sharks so god knows where they are going to get any growth from. You can see potential in Eels, Titans and Doggies but hard to see how Sharks, Panthers and Manly are going to improve (and that Manly avg is very much boosted by their away from home games, Brookvale was under 9k I believe)

Anyone else underwhelmed by the NRL's alleged reclaiming of scheduling rights they were supposed to get this year? There seemed to be a lot of potentially high drawing games still slotted into sht times.

Why? It's not hard to see how to improve crowds ,scheduling for one.In Sydney toss 6pm.Play local derbies at family friendly times for all derbies ,not a Thursday or Friday night.
And yes improving facilities is another.Manly has only to get their sh*t together.

The Sharks played their main crowd drawer at home the Dragons(local derby) on a Thursday night, and got 13,500,whhch is very ordinary against the same Dragons , which would have drawn a hell of a lot more on a Saturday or Sunday.
Two 6pm games on a Friday produced two of the Shark's poorest crowds;
V Roosters 11,855
V Raiders 10,016(as if Raiders fans could get there by 6pm let alone Shark's fans)
Playing the hopeless Eels on a decent saturday night crowds 12,073
Played Cowboys (with few of their fans) with light rain on a Saturday night crowd 12,270.
Played Tigers on a Sunday 2pm game with rain 13,093.Bigger drawing team proving my point.
Hell the Sharks got over 13,200 when they played the imploding Sea Eagles,on a 2pm Sunday game.

Did not play South Sydney at home in 2018 which draws a big crowd. And which they have drawn big crowds in the past.

You don't have to be Luigi the Unbelievable,to know derbies, big drawing clubs and time slots are going to help the averages.
Call the above facts excuses ,so be it no skin of my honker, but they do influence crowd numbers. All these factors intertwine, into formulating the final crowd results.
And I don;t agree with the BS ,that certain clubs cannot improve their crowds.I just spelt some of the reasons why they can.

Roosters v sharks category 2 reserved seating (TV side) seems to be selling quite well, according to ticketek. So should be a decent crowd

Heard on the radio this morning that ticket sales suggest double the amount of Sharks fans have purchased tickets to Roosters fans so far.

There are some really poor averages here and Sydney really failed to deliver. Cronulla probably delivered the worst number, equal 1st and only averaging 12,700, that's pathetic. The roosters and Penrith weren't a great deal better.

5 of the top 8 sides were from Sydney so form can't be blamed for the lacklustre crowds. Can't blame it all on ANZ either. Souths averaged the highest of any Sydney team easily whilst playing at ANZ. If anything it was the teams playing in suburban grounds that dragged us down. It's also a reminder of just how small some fan bases are of Sydney teams. If Souths, dogs, Parra, tigers and dragons are going well the crowds are huge. If the top 8 is represented by Penrith, manly, sharks and the roosters you can probably expect a pretty average year.

Let's just hope that WSS stadium can help turn things around.

There are some positives, like Newcastle. Seriously the NRL's strength in Newcastle and the hunter is one of our big advantages over all other codes in this country.

The warriors are also the sleeping giants of the NRL. Give them a few successful seasons and I could see them averaging 20K+ which few teams have done (all the whilst getting no away support).

QLD mostly delivered this year. The broncos as always carried the crowd average. The Titans despite having yet another shitful year still managed to out draw 4 other clubs including 3 Sydney ones. The cowboys were buoyed by Thurstons final year but still decent considering they battled for the spoon. With the new stadium coming things are looking great up north.

I'm thinking the next few years will see substantial increases in crowds due to new stadiums and increasing membership numbers. Hopefully some of the clubs dragging their feet can pick up their game a bit.

Penrith is well up from last year which is the main thing.

Crowd was lower for many reasons. Got 2 sellouts but WT are a good crowd puller yet was a Thurs night. Sharks could be a rivalry game given the Moylan swap was 6pm Friday. Dogs also on a Friday night which is bad for Penrith.

Sat night is the preferred time yet had one game and was a sellout.

Every other club could list similar reasons why the crowd was down. It is what it is with the Timeslots in the game

Be interesting to see which team actually got the most people to games overall.
Maybe when you buy a ticket you have to pick home , away or neutral.
