4 SYD teams split 6000 each.....and 90 percent of the crowd was split between the Eels and Souffs

I was at the game and hate double headers. Had worse seats than normal,.had to right all the crowds from the Show, concert next door....NRL got what it deserved.

The double header wasn't well promoted and their should have been some package deal publicised and arranged with show goers! In the week leading up to this I did not hear one dedicated mention or advert for the double header. No Easter show incentive deal. It was poorly marketed!

I heard it on triple m heaps .

$20 for 1 adult and 4 kids and $ 3 pies

Not sure what else nrl can do ..

Seems like dh are just a way to artificially increase the average attendance

As both games will count as 25k

People were calling for double headers at anz because of the success at Suncorp, they got it and now start criticising the NRL for doing it because Sydney did what it always does and stayed home.

Now we look like hosting an entire rd at Suncorp next year. They have pretty much given up on Sydney.

People were bagging the Storm crowd on Thursday (and I agree it should of been more but crappy scheduling was the bulk of the reasoning) but so far it has been the best of the round if you split the Sydney dh in half (12,553 per game)

I doubt Roosters will draw a much bigger crowd and from a quick wikipedia search clive berghofer only holds 9k..

I was at the game on Thursday and despite the smaller crowd than usual the atmosphere was still good, and I've yet to see a game at AAMI where they have needed tarps to cover all the empty seats...

I’m not defending the shite crowd but AAMI Park has a few less seats than ANZ.

Yeah I definitely understand that but for a double header in 'NRL heartland' its just a bad look..

Ive noticed the tarps at similar and smaller stadiums as well, I think I saw one on the highlights for the raiders game today and I cant recall the last time I didnt see them at the GC (not that anyone is making a case for the titans attendance record)

25k for 4 clubs. The last thing sydney needs is ANOTHER nrl team!

Thought the crap vitriol would be coming out from the usual suspects. The attendance was poor. I listen to Sky sports radio and did not hear one dedicated interview/advert promoting any deal concerned with this double header in Sydney. The marketing was poor! The weather, especially the leadup was inclement which does not help and three teams were coming off losses which isnt helpful with the fickle fans within many clubs. Reinvigorating the code and this vast region with the Central Coast Bears franchise will send a positive and profitable message to neutral fans. Atm the ceaseless talk of relocations, mergers etc is not helping rugby league's image in its foundation heartland city/region. This area which impacts two other nearby regions is hurting as a result of the macabre dealings witnessed and realised from the destruction filled "agreement" and decisions arising from poor administrators in the super league fiasco. Shame on you PR ! Still putting the "smiling assassin " stance against a suffering code in these regions which are referred to as "Sydney ". The negativity is hurting the code!

The Double Header at Suncorp works because people are not battling crowds for other bigger events next door......dont have the event when the Easter Show is on. Why bother battling the crowds, the expense of everything and the weather when you can watch it at home for free

Fair point. However the nearby event can work for attracting a bigger walk up crowd? In fact if I were the marketing people, I would have worked out a Golden slipper race day/Easter show promotion package whereby attendees of both these events had some deal to encourage attending the double header with public transport included.

We've always found it easier to go to games while the Easter Show is on. You can piggy back off the free Easter show direct public transport

I have 2 cousins from Hawaii here
If it was at SFS we would’ve gone
We might go tonight instead to watch 2 teams we don’t even support

Homebush just has nothing else around to do.

so
you've been told now , I dunno.. 15 times.. it doesn't count as 2 crowds & it is calculated correctly by halving it for an average
but you keep posting this utter rubbish

you & Stallion , cuts off the same geniused cloth ....
