Pass mark and slightly more then expected.
11,800 in Canberra
19k sold as of today. Can’t see it selling out given it can fit 30K but 25 would be a great result and fantastic atmosphere.
I’m not ignorant to the fact that dogs fans have great representation in regional nsw and that they also like to travel. This shows how valuable a club like the dogs are. Like parramatta huge fan base when going well and not so small when going poorlyTbh I’d say 3k were dogs fans

Mate I don’t to want to sound like a sharks fan bagging out the Dragons
But
A few years ago I had to deal with the Dragons sales dept.
It was for an old couple
Life long st George fans
It was for the old fellas birthday which I mentioned to them when organising it.
I bought them tix that included dinner and speeches from the coach prior to the game etc etc
It was not cheap either.
They asked me to give them some info about the old fella so they can give a shoutout to him during the speeches.
Anyway On the Monday morning after the game I got an abusive email from them saying I made the speaker look like a fool.
He apparently mentioned the old bloke during the speech and tried to find him the crowd.
The thing is they’d stuck him and his wife on a table way off to the side behind a huge pylon.
They both were putting their hands up and calling out .
Nobody could see them.
They’d even been forgotten about during the dinner service.
Everyone had finished before they got anything to eat.
The old guy (who might I add) has a very high standing in the community and was himself a very famous athlete.
Represented Australia.
He went to school with Norm Provan.
Was mortified when the speaker made a disparaging remark about him when they couldn’t find him.
He was there and he heard every word.
Then the email came.
I showed the guys daughter and she asked me to let it go.
I did.
That organisation can go and get well and truely f**ked AFAIAC
That's shit alright.
I've held jobs in engagement and marketing in the community sector. One of the most degrading things I've ever seen was a fully cognisant but non-verbal young man with a severe physical disability have a Souths beanie slapped on him for a photo as he thrashed wildly (he was a big Wests or Parra fan if I recall) while someone associated with SouthsCares patronisingly said "look how much he loves it." He was made a Souths member that season.
A young woman that I had a bit to do with was a Cronulla fan (against the wishes of her Saints mad father). Your club in all their charity had organised her to meet a high profile player. Well, that player never made it, no explanation was given and this young woman died 2 months later. Cystic fibrosis is a truly awful disease.
Anyway, that was a dark segue from what was essentially a comment on the amateurish nature of NRL membership departments.
Lessons.
1. Poor organising and well meaning misunderstandings should not conflated with malice.
2. Get off ya high horse.
More security than fans here at Shark Park. 6pm game needs to go
Double headers not selling out is a bad look for nrl, look at that pathetic anz double header.
The Bears going to Gosford is a terrible idea. No one will support them up here. I haven't met a bears fan in my 10 years here and I see hundreds of people a day at work. Everyone has a team already.
Much better to play games here throughout the year and offer special membership for existing clubs and maybe have travel included in their tickets.
We have enough teams here. I don't want any kicked out but expansion should come from outside NSW. We can grow NSW rugby league with proper promotion.
Wonderfully put! Are you a marketing person became you are imploding with great ideas! The bears should play at Gosford for 24 hours a day so that every unsuspecting commuter can get a glimpse of our now non imploding code!
Are you sure you're a teacher! Your writing is imploding! Not a good look for the young kids! The people I spoke to don't want bad grammar to dilute their game!If you seriously think the NSW competition is a drawcord tho know again! Footy fans and the general do not relate to 2nd rate comps. Some games will hAve an attraction with a good marketing angle bit the on petition itself will never be a substitute for top-flight NRL competition. It just doesn't win in the local pub argum entry when talking footy. Simple as that. But some of you think it will magically fill in the void created by the dilution of top flight rugby-league in the three regions we are discussing.

There are ways to grow the game in an area other than having a team there. We can't have a team in every area, it's not financially viable.
It's not having a team everywhere! It's catering to a population that is underserviced by top flight rugby league. That's not ever where. On the big scheme of things ten top flight rugby league clubs in three regions with growing populations is not everywhere. It is prudent spreading and catering to the underserviced market place which adores this intetnationally repressed code. Keep the locals happy and grow the game with additional clubs is the way to go. Not weakening the code in its original area.
