The scg gets it upgrades from the cricket connections .. the swans just ride on back of it

And this happens at the Gabba , waca , Adelaide oval , mcg

Soccer actually going better is actually helping nrl get upgrades.. think WSS happens with out a summer Tennant ?

"The Swans just ride on the back of it".LOL Typical AFL thinking, the I know nothing mentality.Nice work if you can get it.
AFL has been riding on the back for ages.
The State Govt puts in substantial amounts for both the SCG and Spotless.Bearing in mind SCG is mainly for one winter code. Parra will be for at least 2 possibly 3,ANZ ditto, and SFS ditto.
The SFS is under the control of the Trust, and they should have had at an upgrade well before the SCG.

We know how much money of both the Blacktown Council and State Govt contributed on a GWS promise ,to have their base there.Breakfast Creek instead.

The majority by a long shot ,of Sydney football fans are from the 3 rectangular codes, leaving AFL fans in Sydney in their wake.

I understand you are an AFL apologist, but as a reality check their major competition ,is a Johnny come lately one in Sydney.

Yet even soccer going better, both rectangular codes had to wait years behind the AFL to get decent facilities.

And why did thee AFL put a couple of million into ANZ to keep it oval, then decide nope, games will be played at the SCG.
Once the Olympic were concluded in 2000,ANZ was to be reconfigured to rectangular, your mob intruded and stuffed that happening.
The entitlement code ,is the one you are apologising for.

And you mention WSW.
Conversely AFL as you have stated would not be getting you beaut SA or WA stadiums without having cricket involved. And as Roy Masters noted the AFL put in little, for a couple of billion dollars worth of stadiums./
Rectangular stadiums for 3 football codes, not just one.

I agree with all that you have said..

The SCG new stands we're apparently done to make sure Australia got cricket world cup ..

All I'm saying is cricket being oval make afl lobbying more effective...

I doubt adelaide oval would have been done without cricket , bbl, etc ..

I've already alluded to the fact, the NRL needs lobbyists and therefore slow off the mark.
The point is and remains ,AFL had a dream ride into Sydney sporting facilities, whereas the rectangular codes and the NRL in particular did not.And they were here well before 1982.
It's taken till 2019 for a decent stadium at Parramatta (the centre of the West with 60% of Sydney's population )to be built.State Govts also must should er some of the blame.
And the AFL should have p*ssed off ,and not interfered with the ANZ reconfiguration. They want their cake and eat it, hence the description "entitlement code."\
And GWS Shepherd chairman wants to retain ANZ as is and you wonder why people get fed up with these clowns at times.

Said before, and will say it again. Can you imagine our crowd average if we had a successful season? 20,000 crowd average easy with a few sell outs.

It's good to see Cbus full again. I still think if Titans can keep building their goodwill on the Coast and string together some successful seasons then getting back to those 20k+ averages are possible.

I agree. We have some great juniors coming through.

I think its a miracle that place gets any decent crowds, it's such a lifeless stadium in the middle of nowhere (like most NRL stadiums). Terrible food and drinks choices too.

Honestly so many stadiums where NRL plays are in such poor to average locations. Its no surprise the ones in great locations, Suncorp and AAMI pull pretty well. I've never been to Hunter stadium so not sure what its location is like.

What's Perth looking like this arvo?
Hope my they don't let us down ....yet again .

Next sports game in Perth? 60k expected for wk1 finals. That’s what happens when fans follow a team with passion lol.

Well done Newcastle/Dragons and titans/cowboys fans. Great atmospheres. Makes the game so much better when played in front of packed modern stadiums.

26,681 at cbus.

Makes other folks want to experience it too. Big crowds breeds big crowds
