2018 Draw

It’s a weird draw. I was hoping things would be better when the NRL had control of it

Things haven't been better for 5 years since the nrl got control of the game, why did you expect them having control of the draw would be better? The organisation is full of overpaid clueless merkins.

So many missed opportunities for big crowds in that draw.

They have a contract for these time slots for another 5 years....did you honestly expect differently?

they've scheduled 5 of a potential ?14 nz games in the 6pm slot. Every game in nz should be in the 6pm slot. Compensate the warriors and help them with marketing and ticket prices to lesson the impact and provide financial support for other clubs to move home games to other nz cities. There should be at least 15games a year in nz cities with most of them being Friday 6pm slots.
Newcastle are financially trying to get back on their feet, last thing they need is a sht load of 6pm games impacting crowd and membership revenue!

Seriously, a Sharks V Dragons local derby on a Thursday night. That's a crowd drop of 7-8,000 for starters.
Surely the NRL dumbos could have made derbies at least preferences on decent times lots to maximise crowds.
If I had my way I'd be telling News/Slothfield and the 6pm Friday time slot to f*ck off well and truly. As useful as a tube of shaving cream ,in a hurricane.

They should have flagged the belter 20k plus crowd potential games and allocated them the Sunday slots first up. I can see a number of big drawing games that will be minimised by sht slots, yours being one of them.

Thursday night is utter shit

They have just lost about 8000 people straight up.

It's crazy off the back of a season that saw crowds drop below 15k. Surely logic would dictate that you would red flag every derby and big drawing game and put them in the prime spots? Oh well RL never fails to dissapoint.

My first post.
I'm peed off.The NRL draw has the dragons roosters Anzac day game at Allianz at 7pm and the melb game at 4.10pm.
This game has always been in the afternoon.
Hope its just a typo error or else there will be a lot smaller crowd there.Ive been to almost every one of them over the last 10 years but wont be there at that time next year.
Cheers all

Agreed. Storm vs. Warriors should be night time after the Collingwood vs. Essendon fumblethon.

no one should get a crap load of any of these shit time slots for crowds
I think the Friday 6pm should be shared around to all 16 clubs ... with the rest going to NZ
same with Thursdays ... except NZ of course
thered be about 1 per club

so about 1 Friday 6pm & 1 Thursday per club
discount tickets , heavy promotion & all clubs should work their arses off to get a decent turn up to their 2 crap time slot games
some getting 3.... its doable

In nz it would be at a more fan friendly Friday night time. Agree with Thursday, every team gets one then clubs are supported to take the other Thursday nights on the road. A Thursday night in Perth with $15 tickets would get 12k plus, or in a regional town where crowd is likely to be 7k anyways

We know we are stuck with them, it's about being creative to minimise the shtness of them on crowds and clubs revenue

its not as friendly as sunday or saturday afternoons & no one should be lumped with one slot for all their games
they'd probably get 5 Friday 6pm games anyway after their allocated 1 plus all the others after the other 15 sides get theirs , thats more then enough

No it's not but it's a lot friendlier than 6pm in Australia! and as said if they are supported to minimise the impact then it could work for them or at least not be as sht as it's going to be for the likes of Newcastle.

I'm really disappointed. Was hoping that they could release the draw as some sort of a stage show, 60s style!
Greenberg swinging and jiving to some show tunes while the draw is read out. Maybe have some animals on the stage. I don't think that's too much to ask

Newcastle attracted 20K to a 6pm Friday game
if each clubs marketing dept can't turn 2 , 3 max of their home games into events with what ever incentives they need , then we are in trouble

I still don't think the NZers should be lumped with 1 time slot for all their home games , just because its a hard one for aussies to get to
be inventive , show some ingenuity , work real hard on a couple of home games in rough time slots , get the fans in.

For the one and only time in my miserable life,I agree with you.
But the draw sh*ts on this years, from a great height. The bush gets a fair go,at least Sundays they got off their a"es and at least improved the situation especially for Sydney.
Knew we were stuck with 6pm Fridays,so hands well and truly tied.
Got to give the NRL at least a B+ for 2018 schedule,2017 was a D-

I wonder if Penrith will get the easiest draw in the NRL again?

Not long until we find out...

They need it. Especially with a dud 800K front rower eating up their cap space and a coach who will surely be punted should they start off like they did last season.

The Warriors have 1 FTA match all season.

Have the NRL forgotten that they have fans in Australia too?

What a f**king disgrace this draw is.

Todd Greenberg is destroying the game and must resign immediately
Fork over the $$ for Foxtel ya cheap merkin & stop ya whining. f**k it must be tiring being you.
