Correct me if I'm wrong, but this will be next week schedule yes?

Friday - Roosters/Sharks vs Panthers/Warriors at SFS. Winner to play Melbourne on Friday the next week

Saturday - Souths vs Broncos/Dragons at ANZ. Winner to play Roosters/Sharks at ANZ on Saturday the next week.

Close but whoever plays roosters or sharks in week 3 will be playing at SFS.

I would be at ANZ Stadium tonight if not for other circumstances.

Having said that, if there was an announcement to convert Kirkham Oval into a 30,000 seater capable of hosting NRL finals then they have my vote.

Good enough for Group 6 grand finals it's good enough for NRL. Pain in the arse getting from the sheds to the field though.

I would think so.

Roosters/sharks prelim will be sfs if against Broncos

If it's against Souths you'd have to think it's under consideration to move to ANZ to accommodate the crowd.

Saturday - Souths vs Broncos/Dragons at ANZ. Winner to play Roosters/Sharks at ANZ on Saturday the next week.

Wk 2 - Souths semi has to be Saturday due to their opponent playing today and gives them a 6-day break. Means CRO vs PEN is Friday night. Souths match will be Olympic Park, Cronulla will be SFS.

Wk 3 - There should be another cross over so SYD as 1st seed and straight into the prelim should be Friday night of Week 3 vs the winner of the Saturday Wk 2 semi. Winner of that match still gets the 6-day break. Melbourne should be Saturday night against Winner of CRO/PEN. All the advantages should be going the way of the Roosters as Minor Premiers and winners of their Wk 1 final.

Fri - SYD vs (Souths vs BRI/SGI semi) - SFS
Sat - MEL vs CRO/PEN semi - Swan St Melbourne.

Wk 3 of the AFL will certainly have RIC vs COL/GWS at MCG on Friday night, WCE vs HAW/MEL will be in Perth on the Saturday.

Both NRL matches should really be on Sat of Wk 3 - 5pm & 7:30pm, but we know the NRL will bend over to C9. I love the NFLs back to back Sunday Conference finals (superbowl qualifiers).

When does prelim info get confirmed? Spewing that it looks like we will be placed directly against a Richmond prelim but not to worry

Hopefully next week when they announce the wk 2 matchups they also confirm what day storm and roosters play, then the winners from wk 2 can just slot into that

Also wouldn't Roosters get the Friday night game because they finished 1st? or does that not matter

Stupidity scheduling the Melbourne prelim against the Richmond game.. But it was expected after this week

If it ends up being against the sharks it would of been a sell out (nice little rivalry forming between us), but now it probably won

This is why the Melbourne game should be on Saturday, its Game 2 of the preliminary finals and the Roosters as minor premiers should have the chance for a longer break before the GF should they win

Is there something on in Sydney for the NRL to swap them? Or are they generally trying to compete with the AFL? Or do channel 9 prefer the Storm on Friday night, probably to go against 7 on the main channels in Melbourne

Either way it's poor scheduling from the NRL, especially since once again the AFL was announced first

I think they are just trying to give all teams playing in week 2 a 7 day break.

So at this point it looks like both storm finals will be played with 90K+ across the road at the MCG. Both crowds and ratings will suffer as a result.
