Knights were told not to bother.

https://www.theherald.com.au/story/5215522/knights-unsure-about-fielding-team-in-nrl-womens-league/

Wests Group/Knights chief executive Phil Gardner said the club would like to be involved, pending financial projections.

“We haven’t seen a budget yet, so that’s always been the issue for us,” Gardner said.

“What’s it going to cost us to run it? We’re interested, and we think it’s a great thing for the game. But we have already taken a lot on for this first season, so we’re waiting to see the the financial details, and where it sits.

“My gut sense is that we probably won’t be putting a side in, on the basis of cost.”

Dragons Womens team definitely more representing Illawarra than the 'St.George' aspect. All their training (at least so far) and out-of-town players accommodation is in Wollongong.

I agree that the Warriors jersey effort is an odd choice. Apart from the token 'purple/pink' effort, it just doesn't look like it belongs to the NZ Warriors. When I saw the photo of all 4 clubs represented together, I did a quick look at the jerseys and had to work out it was the Warriors (as it clearly wasn't Roosters, St.George-Illawarra, or Brisbane). Surely the Warriors club has had enough jersey colours in their history to warrant not changing their jersey colours for their NRLW team too..?

Timmah will claim broncos and roosters clash
I would too, and I went to the effort of explaining why a few weeks back.

You obviously place a lower priority on contrast in favour of keeping traditional colours which is fine, but the swipes at others for having different opinions are getting a little repetitive, especially when they don't add any points to the discussion. It is a discussion thread afterall.

I don't think they'll clash - but they won't contrast well.

I doubt they'll worry about it in a small round robin series but once the comp expands away jerseys will be come necessary

Is there a reason Parra have hardly worn their away jersey this year?
Tonights clash isn't too bad and I get they they have basically adopted this jersey as their away this year, but their actual yellow away jersey would of been much better tonight

A lot of us Parra fans prefer the 86 jumper than the away jumper. They mightve listened to us fans.

Not saying the away one is awful but we did play awful last time we performed in it.

Plus we've worn the home jumper a number of times away that doesnt clash with the home side.

They're both dark coloured jerseys with a contrasting saddle V. The colours alone are enough for one of the Broncos and Roosters to usually wear their away design in the NRL, and now the jersey style is very similar. Shorts and socks do contrast but the dark/light vs light/dark matchup does seem to give a few people the shits in these threads.

Once the comp is more established I'm sure they will have 6 different jerseys a year, just like the men's comp.

The 86 jersey is better than the official away but its just another case of clubs bending the rules. I haven't seen such flagrant disregard for sticking to a uniform since the end of Mighty Ducks 2.

The NRL really needs to crack down and limit the number of times these alts can be worn per year, then the clubs and manufacturers might think twice before chopping and changing main designs in the future.

If Parra does go with the 86 design next year, they shouldn't have moved away from it at the end of last year, they need a pair of alternate gold shorts and socks to avoid contrasts with dark teams.

Brisbane have done precisely the same thing.

Interesting that the picture here has the Broncos in away socks. All material to date has them wearing the home socks.

Until the league does what a lot of major sports do and mandate what jerseys team must wear at what games, we will see away jerseys being used twice and only to be replaced by a heritage jersey.

Whether it's determined to be a light and dark jersey, or a colour for home and white for away, the league will need to do something about it.

Hats off to the roosters for having identical jersey to the first grade team (notice I didn't say men's team). If this is the premiere competition for women then they need to be given the same recognition as the first grade team of their respective clubs. This isn't the under twenties. I don't want to see different jerseys (and colours in the case of the Warriors) when this competition kicks off.

Wouldn't recognition be allowing the women their own design to forge their own identity?
