So at the halfway point what are our predictions for the CFP?

I think the SEC love fest will continue with both bama and LSU making it. The other 2 spots will go to Oklahoma and the Ohio state/Wisconsin survivor.

Clemson to get found out real soon and I don't see a way for Oregon to get in unless bama or LSU lose twice.

Boise state to make one of the new years 6 bowls.

USC @ Notre Dame is the great rivalry game this weekend. Surely it will be on ESPN out here. Can't believe ND v Georgia was not televised out here a few weeks ago.

Edit: should add to that Texas Longhorns v Oklahoma Sooners battle it out in the Red River Shootout.

ESPN has really dropped the ball in general with college coverage in the last 3 years.

A few years back both channels showed games all day in a Sunday during season. Now we are lucky to get one or two games between the channels.

I can cop instances like last week when they played MLB conference championship games on one channel but there are other occassions where they have had no live content and still not shown it.

Their UFC contract hasn't helped either.

At the moment I consider Oklahoma, Ohio State and Clemson to be certainties. I just don't see any loses on their schedule.
Who will number 4 be out of Bama, Georgia (I can see them beating Bama or LSU in the SEC championship), LSU or Auburn for the SEC?
Wisconsin would be a great story but I just don't think they have the talent to beat Ohio State.
The Irish don't have the strength of schedule from here and they have a big task in front of them with Michigan in the big house.
I will go in order: Ohio State, Oklahoma, Clemson, Bama.

That is driving me nuts. Is there some contract they have in place? Why is it on every Sunday. Such garbage.
Thatfully ESPN3 still has a heap of games but even that seems decreased from last year. They don't seem to show any Notre Dame games.

Yeah I see what you mean with Clemson schedule but a loss wouldn't shock me and I think the voters feel the same given they are 3 now. I think they will lose ACC championship game.

you can bet your bottom dollar that bith LSU and bama will be there especially if LSU lose a tight one @ bama with both teams running the table from there.

Wisconsin would be awesome and they may not beat OSU in Ohio but they likely get a 2nd chance in the big10 championship. Add Penn state to make it a 3 way race as they are not without hope.

It's a shame PAC12 winner is unlikely to get there.

Yeah they took the UFC contract from fox in America and it has been honoured here. They have rights to all events except main PPV cards so it is on ESPN every Sunday now.

Notre dame home games are contracted to NBC in the states and I believe ESPN doesn't have those rights here. I think it is actually with eurosports

I wish there was an equivalent of NFL game pass for College.
I mean I acknowledge it is a first world problem because all I have to do is wait a couple days and the full replay is up on youtube (and following the game on ESPN play by play is actually pretty good).

In desperation I've gone around looking for streams of particular games in the last few weeks... not as much success as I would have expected. Probably need to pay for one of those dodgy mega-streaming sites.

Oregon gets away with PI at the end of the game and pulls off the comeback 35-31

watched the end of that game and a little bit of the Michigan b Penn State game...

god I hate college football... it’s like 7’s rugby or 9’s rugby league...

lightweight stuff compared to the real thing.

i can't watch it because i know only 5 players on the field will make it to the nfl, if that.

Mate it’s terrible... it seemed like the majority of the time they line up in the gun and either throw to the flat or a quick slant.

and the run plays are a variation of the same f**king play except it’s an RPO.

you can see why drafting is such a crapshoot... how the f**k you can even try to project any of that to an NFL game is beyond me.

I get it. If precision is all you want then stick to the League. But in every other fascist college is superior. The kids practice a lot less, which makes a big difference. All the pros do is practice and count cash. Soul-less and personality-less.

Take Notre Dame, they cant lose a game or they are done, this alone makes every game more interesting. Then since they are independent they play a schedule of totally different teams each week. In a 3 week stretch they may play Wake Forrest who play up tempo and get 110 snaps off a game, then the next week they may play Stanford who play totally different offence and get maybe 50 or 60 snaps off, followed by Navy who play the triple option...then possibly Michigan who play with a fullback.

Main reason I don't watch the league is because its on Monday and is full of vampires.

The NFL is full of vampires?? :joy::joy:

you mean the athletes that put their bodies on the line week in week out get compensation for the product they produce on the field that the NFL makes billions of dollars from?

those guys are vampires?? :joy::joy:

Er... the only vampires i see are the conglomerate known as the NCAA and the colleges that sign billion dollar broadcasting, sponsorship and apparel deals without actually fairly compensating the athletes that actually put their bodies on the line producing the product.

Whatever, maybe the NFL should allow players to enter the draft any time they want like MLB does. But those tight arse owners (and I guess the players association) don't want to pay someone to play in a bush league while their body matures.
99% of college athletes love the set up and get a lot more out of it then they otherwise would out of something like the NFL where unless you are a star, you make one mistake and get cut and don't get anything. How many players actually have a guaranteed amount?

I loved how Antonio Brown shat all over the Raiders.

The problem with pro sports is nothing good ever came out of them. Name one innovation that the NFL has ever come up with for the game? Everything good about the game came out of the amateur college game. I think its across the board that nothing good ever got invented in a sport at a professional level. In fact everything about pro sports dumbs a game down. All they can do in soccer is come up with boring as hell defensive structures. That game needs an amateur system like college to refind itself.

AB shit all over himself... the Raiders moved on and AB literally lost $30M dollars.

What i find funny is you literally can’t see that college football IS PRO SPORTS!

they point a camera at it... they make millions of dollars off it... it’s f**kING PRO SPORTS!

the only difference here is that the old white dudes in suits keep 100% of the profits instead of the 50% the old white dudes in suits get in the NFL.
