You're right, Edwards will be key. He's very confidence based. If he drops a ball early or makes an error he gets the yips.

Still brings a lot to our side though which gets unseen by the majority of other supporters. His positioning and organisation of the defense is second to none imo. Beats the first man when bringing the ball back more times than not also.

I love that Wayne Bennett is pissed off Panthers have made it more difficult for his team to rough up Nathan Cleary. Has there been a game where they haven't hit him late or high after kicks? Or worked him over on the ground after a tackle?

This game should be the only close one this weekend. 2nd vs 3rd was the only match up where the teams are close in quality. I rate Souths as a decent chance here and while I think Panthers deserve to be favorites, not having Mansour to target is a huge gain for Souths. We knew how to exploit his weaknesses and were hugely successful in doing so. Im sure we will attempt to terrorise the replacements but those results are unlikely to be as successful.

I wouldn't be surprised if Titans-Roosters is closer than expected. The Roosters are held together with duct tape at the moment. Eels-Knights could also just be a dour shitfest, keeping the score close as a result.

Hopefully while they are at it they police the grubby shit in the ruck. If they do that we wont need to block souths forwards on kick pressure as we will never get to the last tackle.

that whole 3rd/4th man rolling around on the legs of tackled front rowers will no doubt be a feature again of Souths defence as will the excessive wrestle and driving players back 5m after the held call.

Ivan finally comes to his senses.

You cannot win a comp with a bum like Edwards at the back.

I don’t see Crichton as a natural fullback, more of a liability than Edwards. As unpopular opinion as it is I think Staines would be the best fullback for Penrith
