That was a very gritty win from the Eels. Lane, Niukore, Moses and Gutherson were absolutely outstanding. RCG, Sivo and Mahoney were excellent as well. That defence esp on their line reminded me of the Eels of the early rounds from last year.

The Storm needed much more from Hughes in that game and I felt they played too much 1 out especially in the 1st half. Papenhuyzen had a great game though. Olam done fantastic before he threw the game away with that kick. Smith had a really tough night but he kept soldiering on.
I rarely praise the refs, but I thought Klein done really well tonight.

Except Klein should have sin-binned Catfusi.

But generally, the refs did well.

Gutho lucky to get away with leading with the knees to prevent a try, Klein we know is a bit of a dud.

Fullbacks do that every week - why wouldn't King Gutherson get away with it?

How about Olam's trip on Gutherson?

Or the crusher early in the second half on Niukore?

I think the refs were generally OK, but there was no excuse for Kaufusi to stay on the field. That was a dog shot, and it doesn't belong in the game.

Pretty good game. Sivo vs Jennings the mismatch that decided it. Didn't think Storm would ever be desperate for Brenko Lee to return.

Also while B. Smith is a great player, his service out of dummy half is inferior to Grants. Few balls above Munsters head tonight and well, forward.

I didn't see a FB do that last week.

I didn't see a FB do that last week.

You know what I meant, though - what Gutherson did is seen on a regular basis.

If he gets cited, then every player doing it should get cited, as well.

But allowing Kaufusi to stay on the field was just criminal.

Really just winding up Rhyno.

Parra have last years finals series still fresh on their mind which makes them one year more seasoned. They'll give this year a shake...and I'll be here to cheer them on.

Personally, I think we are too inconsistent to be a regular Finals force.

But tonight was a massive step in the right direction.

Bin definitely. Sent off I'm on the fence, it is just not really used much anymore. I am not totally sure it was intentional but it was definitely ugly and will likely have a few weeks or more out.

I may be biased, but it looked like Kaufusi deliberately cooked his elbow, and smashed it into Matterson's head.

It should have been at least a sin bin - we were a man down for 30 minutes, and got nothing more than a penalty out of it.
