Using the figures below as estimates, where the "estimate" has been published or bounced around in the media:

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

SPOTS AVAILABLE: 8
  1. Jai Arrow 700
  2. Tom Burgess. 550
  3. Jed Cartwright. 300
  4. Michael Chee-Kam
  5. Damien Cook. 700
  6. Campbell Graham. 400
  7. Siliva Havili
  8. Jacob Host. 250
  9. Alex Johnston. 250
  10. Liam Knight. 350
  11. Keaon Koloamatangi 400
  12. Josh Mansour. 425
  13. Anthony Milford
  14. Taane Milne
  15. Latrell Mitchell. 850
  16. Cameron Murray. 700
  17. Mark Nicholls
  18. Jaxson Paulo
  19. Hame Sele
  20. Isaiah Tass
  21. Tevita Tatola 300
  22. Cody Walker. 650
That total = 6.825 mil

The cap is 9.11mil in 2022 according to the agreement between the NRL and the RLPA

This estimate leaves 2.285 mil to spend on 16 more players.

The minimum wage is 118K according to the agreement.

These are estimates based on what has been published on FOX sports website, Telegraph, Zero Tackle lists of top 150 players. I've seen Burgess figure published as 700, but one guy here disputed that so I used his disputed figure here.

You can fill in the gaps here. Should be pretty clear we don't have money to offer big $ contracts.

At least 24 Top 30 players must be contracted by 1 November, 29 Top 30 players by 1 March and 30 Top 30 players by 30 June.
Yeah most teams now only sign 29 by the time the comp starts and leave one free in case of injury, or swoop on someone who is spitting the dummy, or his team wants to get rid of him.

The 9.11 mill cap is for the NRL 30 players squad - Develop contracts replaced the second tier contracts - clubs can have 6 development players - @ 60 k or so each -these are not included in the NRL Cap. Minimum NRL Top 30 squad wage for 2022 is around 120k

14 players@$118k=$1,652,000 that leaves $633,000 for 2 players.
.
So you got Mark Nicholls, who just signed a new 2 year contract starting 2022 signing for the minimum wage? I don't.

Milford might be getting a massive paycut from his previous deal but you reckon he is on mimimum wage?

As I said, the lists have Burgess @ 700, Rabbits20 reckons thats close to the mark, but one poster reckons he has "insider info" its 550. So thats another 150K in doubt that might need to be counted

Well put numbers on the players, media figures are always rubbery and as Travitoh posted earlier most of the players that have left will be replaced like for like, remember that we weren't over the cap this year with Reyno, Gagai, Su'a and Burns taking up $2.15m in cap space, if the figures that you put are correct we would have been over the cap this year with those players.........but we weren't.

So with $2.15m in cap space deduct the amount for whoever replaces Reyno, Gagai, Su'a and Burns, then deduct any upgrades and you'll end up with a ballpark figure.

Nor do I, so Nicholls can have a $33k upgrade and there is still $600k estimated cap in hand.

I wouldn't have thought Cartwright would be on $300k but if Richo signed him anything is possible.

The players figures for 2022 aren't necessarily what they were for 2021 and before. Some players e.g. Latrell, Koloa have had extensions and upgrades to their orginal signed contracts which havent come into effect until 2022.

The only way we get capspace now is when contracts expiring 2022 end e.g. Mansour, Cartwright.

Correct and now we are covering all of Mansour contract too so he’s getting double as Penrith paid half of what we paid him this season just gone.

Milford is on 350k as well Fox League reported.

We definitely don’t have much spare after lots of upgrades.

Ok I was wondering about that, but I hadn't heard anything.

I knew it wasn't gonna be minimum money.

Anyone waiting for a big $ signing needs to stand next to their fireplace on Dec 24 and wait to see if Santa Claus comes down the chimney
