The Game 2022 Crowd Watch

Spent too long in the Melbourne bubble, You are correct that very few people will show up to it.

This is also why Accor stays the shape it is
That is the clever part. They will have a triple header @ ACCOR anchored by Swans v Collingwood which will draw a big crowd, but the other games @ SCG will surely be a disaster. I think they are going to move it around other cities until Tas come in (when you have an odd number of teams you can't just add an extra round).

I suppose the idea no one loses a home game is interesting. So just add an extra round where no one gets advantage or disadvantage its all neutral.

Should the NRL go down that path play 25 games not 24 games with the magic round so everyone still gets 12 home games.
hows that going to work with 17 teams? You cant have one team playing a game less than everyone else?

It said 5-6 games at SCG. So it would have days with no Swans games

I think it will slow down later in the week, very few neutrals mixed with bad weather
Weather should be good. 0-3mm @ only 50% chance rain is actually nothing.

It really pisses me off how Ticketek allocates these seats. I ended up getting cat 1 seats in Aisle 106 which is right next to the Penrith fans.

Yeaterday evening Aisles 107 and 108 were available, like WTF…

I am not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but the AFL is having a magic round in Sydney the weekend after Easter. Clearly Gil has been drinking his own bath water. As if any game (even a double or triple header) not involving the Swans will draw over 15k. Sat @ ACCOR as well. NRL needs to fixture some big games to squash this concept first time around.
They dont mind stealing an NRL idea do they..

Adelaide and Perth have all put their hand up for a magic round as well.. I wouldnt bank on Sydney..

Clever part, what clever part ? who on God`s earth is going to sit around for 9 hours to watch three games of fumbleball . It would be interminable for even the maddest of fumbleball fans. Bring it on, what a hoot. In fact want to make it even funnier, a couple of fumbleball-w games interspersed would do the trick.

Don’t ever underestimate the stupidity of a fumbleball fan

Wilson went on to outline the proposed four-day, three-venue extravaganza as such:

- Will take place between April 13-16.
- 5-6 games hosted at the SCG.
- 2-3 games hosted at Accor Stadium.
- Potentially one game at Blacktown.
- Free for club members.
- At least two doubleheaders.
- Six-figure financial injection for competing clubs.

With the prospect of a premature start to the 2023 season, should the fixture list commence a week earlier, the proposed date for the AFL's inaugural Magic Round is likely to take place during Round 4 of the upcoming campaign.
