See a fair bit of Bears (league) gear around here in Crowie. More than a decade ago but there's probably more Souths and Swans hats around the joint.

Mind you, I went to P**o Percy's (Pub opposite North Sydney Oval) after a Norths Game a few months back and half of the people in red and black were glued to the screen watching the Swans. Also pretty sad that the Union Hotel on the Pacific Highway, which used to the NS Brothers HQ, is now an AFL branded pub, not that many seem to actually watch games there or anything. Make of that what you will I guess.

Norths were stupid to try and relocate. The Corporate money they could have raked in from North Sydney and Chatswood would have been worth way more than the CC Junior catchment. Look at the Roosters and the look at the Knights for an example of what actually matters.

Exactly what I said elsewhere, there`s room in the NRL for a team who have that corporate backing and could be seen as the ` corporate`s team `. Hopefully not too late, if they can play it right with W.A. and for both sides be willing to compromise and work together.

Billly Moore said they will control the license and play where the nrl tell them too

bringing back the bears is going to be massive for the game especially as it will involve nz2 or Perth

It's a Trojan Horse for a full time return to North Sydney after 'trying' for a bit in another market.

I am not sold on it, but then I think of how much it would grind people's gears on here and then I love the idea!
The derby at nso will be epic after what your team did to them

must see viewing

yeah there are tons of inner city pubs in Brisbane that run both AFL and NRL on the main screens.... I never see any huge demand to watch the AFL in any of them

I have a mate who travels, Thirroul Pub is one I remember. He was told after asking to change it. Sorry management is under contract but every other tv had NRL on.
That pub actually sponsors Thirroul Butchers RL team, So thanks AFL

Sorry to hear about the demise of the Union. I remember Percy’s had an outstanding schnitty. My favourite pubs when I worked in North Sydney

Assuming there aren't significant blocks of tickets on hold, it's going to look good on TV on Saturday, even if not many more seats get moved. As it stands:

For Category 1, only bay 128 has more than single seats in the lower bowl and 407 on Level 4.
For Category 2, only bay 138 in the lower bowl has more than single seats and then 412, 411, 402, 401.
For Category 3, only bays 122, 139, 140, 141, 142 have more than single seats.
For Category 4, only bays 120, 121 & 140 have more than single seats.

If they ever tried, you just tell them to f*** off and go back to reserve grade. Seriously it is a stupid idea if they play any more than 1 home game at NSO. Even then, the better way of doing it would be to have all their Sydney games (sans Penrith perhaps) to be played at Allianz.

With that, you would still tap into the big end of Sydney town with the amount of times they play in Sydney as well properly servicing the area that needs to be serviced.

PVL would be fine with it.

Which is what makes posts like this very, very funny.

Yeah which will make the gnashing and wailing if (and it might be 'when' at this rate) this happens even funnier.

The way he is going at the moment he will be turfed before the year is out anyway. He should have been turfed as soon as the fumbleball deal came through to be fair. F****** incompetent boob that he is.

I agree that News Ltd are behind their man. I think though that he has pissed off a lot of people

Do you think the clubs are happy with him signing a TV deal that’s $200m less than our main competitor? What about the stadium debacle? The players and the RLPA after last year and the current negotiations? Do you think the NSWRL (in particular) and the QRL are happy with him at the moment?

Why do you think he says he has an ace up his sleeve or he is trying to re-negotiate the last deal? Why did he release that sob story to Weidler on Sunday saying the clubs should be grateful or that people are personally attacking him etc. He is under pressure and he is trying to buy himself time.
