The Game 2022 Crowd Watch

No one wants to go to games on
thursday night, friday 6pm or 8pm any night!

dumb, dumb, dumb nrl.
yet crowds are tracking ahead of 2019 during the wettest winter on record up against live telecasts.
Maybe like everything in life we're all getting used to these time slots

the aflol will be the next sport to get a dose of reality & understand that TV $$ come at a price & that price is tradition & fan friendly time slots when they're forced into regular Thursday night games & a night GF

How is it that we can’t dictate terms to the TV networks like the AFL do?
We keep conceding things that impact crowds and once you’ve given them up it’s almost impossible to get them back. Also no competition for the tv rights means tv can dictate and we don’t really have much choice. Seems the nrls answer is just to keep upping the nrl grant to keep clubs viable instead of helping them build their game day revenue.

8PM Friday and Saturday is completely fine.
It was interesting to see how many people, especially families were leaving commbank last week around 9pm with still a third of the game to go. There is no good reason to have games finishing at 10pm.

To me 8PM games aren't aimed at families and we shouldn't apologise for that, there are plenty of other family friendly time slots for the kiddies.

What we need to do is make the two 8PM games our premium weekly fixtures. Think back to the lone Friday night fixture in the early 2000s and prior. It had a legit marquee game feel although of course there were some dud contests on the day.

Shame about the weather in Canberra, ticket sales look amazing regardless but it could have nudged capacity.

pouring out my window atm , but hopefully will clear around 4pm

theres less then 1000 tickets unsold in total
members turning up or not is the key , to see how close we push the 25K capacity

I'll say 23K.. if.. the weather clears
