If there are no suburban grounds used for finals matches then no team should be allowed to have a home final. How is it fair in any world to say that the minor premiers can’t play a home final and then be made to play it at a lower placed team’s ground because they have been gifted a stadium!
If there are no suburban finals then there should be no Brisbane at Suncorp, Easts at the SFS, Eels at Commbank etc. How is it fair otherwise?

I don't suppose there is any chance of getting the crowd aggregate for the round on this thread.

Even the SMH has stopped publishing crowd figures and this thread has degenerated into an off-shoot of "Future NRL Stadiums part II" which already has 23K replies and 9M views. I guess it just shows that crowd figures are a minor distraction for the NRL.

Not sure Parra will sell out on a Thursday night, last few year 10-15k has been average, important game so may get 22-24k but would be happy to be wrong. Tigers should sell out, cowboys and roosters definitely. And I heard Vodafone bought up all the warriors tickets and giving them away for free

Because they play in an actual stadium. Penrith can move all their games to Accor Stadium, then they can play finals on their home ground.

Plus, what is the part you don't understand in that a home final does not have to mean you play at the exact ground. It's always been home city, why are clubs whinging now about something that has been in place for 10 seasons!!!

In 2014 Penrith played their home prelim at Accor Stadium against the Bulldogs and although Accor is the Bulldogs home ground, the crowd was half-half if not majority Penrith. And this has nothing to do with the fact it was a prelim, because they moved their Elimination Final to Allianz in 2016 against the Dogs as well.

You can't make other teams' fans miss out because you play in a hole. Technically the league hosts all finals so they have the final say. It's about time they made the right call and banned finals at venues below 25,000 in Sydney.

Been a good year for crowds generally with not too many sub 10k ones. Broncos showing some form, commbank boosting and Penrith getting their avg up a few thousand as league leaders key factors. Warriors finally being home has helped counterbalance their poor crowds early season and Knight fans just being amazing as ever despite the sht they get served up by their team.
Lowering factors of more games in small regional grounds, sharks being capped and rain in NSW hasnt dragged it down too far. Good to see and lots of positives to build on. Hopefully Dolphins can avg more than 15k and bring it up next year and more games at new stadiums will hopefully help as well.

Should take the FA Cup finals approach when Wembley was being rebuilt. Neutral stadiums. Penrith should be at Accor or SFS if playing Parra because it's unfair to play a home final at the lower placed team's home ground.

Wests Leagues Campbelltown is not the same business entity as Wests Ashfield and actually owns 0% of the Wests Tigers franchise or Western Suburbs Magpies franchise.

The Wests Tigers is 90% owned by Western Suburbs Magpies Pty Ltd. Wests Ashfield own 66% of that entity with the remaining owned by the Western Suburbs Football Club.

Wests Campbelltown separated from Wests Ashfield in 1996 and has zero board spots and provides zero funding to the NRL entity (they do fund the local Rugby League competition and the Magpie Junior Reps with Wests Ashfield) so I doubt the club is being directed to play games (or more games) at Campbelltown Sports Stadium to drive pokies revenue.
