Agree if we swapped Smith for Eisenhuth I’d be comfy with the 17. He’s not a gun but who knows how he goes in our squad while we know exactly how Eisenhuth will go.

i wonder if Ivan has half an eye on the weather and a game played mostly through the middle.

That’s an entirely different issue, retention issue, they are no longer with us, we have to deal with it.

We have to work with the top 30 squad that we currently have no point complaining about what we no longer have.

I am talking about better options in the squad

Take Kenny. Last time we played in the GF Api and Yeo played the full 80

So where does Kenny play in such a case? Better off having someone that covers more positions

Even Chris Smith over Eisenhuth can cover centre

I hear what your saying, but Lambchop has a point.

The roster has been been badly mangled.

Deduct your average of up to 25% injured and it’s going to be tough.

The sacrifice of Nates shoulder to win the competition last year, is coming back to haunt you. I’m not saying it wasn’t worth it, but dues need to be paid. O Sullivan is a big price.

The game may still be called off.

Kenny would offer more than May did in the GF that's for sure. Agree on Smith

Trust the coach and his support team. They are much better placed than we are to judge.

We can enjoy our opinions, free to express them, but our opinions mean diddly squat it is Ivan’s position that counts.

Not sure the Chris Smith covering centre is such a wise position.

I’ve rarely seen such a mismatched backline for a first round encounter.

Poor old Dylan is not going to know what hit him once turbo finds his sea legs.

Staines won’t handle the deluge of bombs coming his way and as a first line of defence, he makes me queasy.

They won’t risk mucking about with Brian.

Foran will relish the slow track. You simply won’t have nates firepower to threaten them on the fifth and you need it against the best player on Gods earth.

These are my main concerns.

So who else can do what Capewell did then?

That is why we did what we did last year. The squad was deep and could cover anything. Including mid game injuries

This 1-17 has so many holes that it isn't funny

It’s going to take very good tactics to beat them.

it’s not so much a war against their forwards, which I feel is more even, it’s containing their halves and backline.

It will be way too much for young Tago, six games in all. Even the unfashionable Parker has 12 times the experience. I don’t understand this selection. It’s a wet track too. Can be as fast as anything, but it will count for nought during the hurricane conditions.

Its a night for cool heads and composure.

Any sign of fatigue or dismemberment, it’s going to be a long night.

Then who covers wing?

Either way we need coverage in the 17. Hooker and 3 props on the bench is dumb.

Mind games as the premiers back at home 1st time since June. Where we haven't lost since 2019 is even dumber
You just cannot cover all positions. Come on you know better than that comment.

Exactly.

Speed is not going to be a concern on a dead, very wet track.

Defence, tackling well will be.

Along with communicating with the player either side of you, in attack and defence.

It will be a tough first game.
With or without Cleary I think the squad needs to come up with some new attacking spark.
We won’t have as easy a time this year pinning teams in their 20.
I felt that opposition had figured us out by the end of last season, our points dropped away a bit, and we were very reliant on kicking.
Our amazing defence gave us the trophy, but I get the feeling we will need a bit of something extra to push for it again.

You need to though with the HIA rule what it is.

Take the team we are playing. They were top 4 last year, I have them Top 4 again this year.

14. Koula - Covers 1, 4, 5
15. Lawton is 2nd row now. Was a 9 and has played halves

Storm who again will be up there.
Named Meaney at 6. He covers wing and Fullback with a 6 and 9 on the bench

Roosters have Connor Watson at 9. Who can play outside backs

Souths have a hooker in Havili
Centre cover in Chee Kam
With a half at full back

Parra ran Dylan Brown at centre v us when Arthur came on. Ray Stone at 9. Also have Bryce who can cover several spots

So they teams around us at the top cover everywhere. But it can't be done?

Be basically don't need it if Nathan is in the side from round 4. We'll cruise into the finals on his back
