Shit things like what?

Got us more money on FTA
Got us more money from NZ
and got us more money on fox

Led the way with covid

First commissioner to actually expand our game.

Buy yeah your right, he's a bad bad man

He didn't reveal how much fox paid us - Neither did Gilligan at the AFL -
Maybe it was confidial - many people do business that way.

He only wants a Perth team. Once that fails he'll blame peter v..

At least we’ll be able to judge when their annual reports come out, more than us who is hiding so as not to be held accountable by the stakeholders.
So now it's wait for annual reports .😂😂😂
When you've done nothing but heap shit on PVL for being guilty of everything you can dream up about the deal & the re negotiated Covid deal last year
You've done so for as long as posters on here can remember
All the While praising GIl the dill & the AFL .

Your AFl loving agenda is on show again .

“allegedly” $400 mill to $473mill. keep drinking the vlad kool aid boys.

sky nz outstanding result
fta deal sht
fox deal looks ok but depends on the impact on digital revenue the concessions to them make

in reality if you take out the fox $100mill expansion money the tv deal overall is pretty much the same as 2018 which is concerning not to see any base growth. Especially as afl are claiming growth with no new offering, and people are predicting in two years when they are up for sale again they will likely get even more.

How can it be? It’s $100mill higher than 2018 deal and nz accounts for $64mill of that. Are you suggesting between fox and nine there has only been slight increases in both areas amounting to $36mill over 5 years or just $7.2million a year across them both?

id suggest it’s much more likely nine is paying a lot lot less than the last deal and fox is paying nrl directly a fair bit more.

in fact we know this as nine last deal signed up for $875mill and this time have signed up for around $575mill plus $$75mill contra

and for this $$36mill extra we gave up: nrl digital media arm, streaming to a large audience via telstra, mid season internationals, choice of expansion club (allegedly).

sounds a cracking deal!

It can be because it is.
You just admitted yourself its up $100m a year on last deal! Though I think you might be selling us a bit short there.

Nine 130m (up) per year in a market that has dropped by about 20% since 2018.

Sky NZ 32m (up)per year
Fox about 240m (up)per year. (and possibly more)

plus unannounced international rights in the UK and elsewhere.

plus the chance of further expansion over the next 7 years

I suggest you checkout Ch9 announcement. You will see C9 real 2018 number.

end of day overall the deal is only up$20mill a year, and $12mill of that is from sky nz. That means the combined fox/nine revenue is only up $8mill a year compared to last deal. Hardly something to shout aboutconsidering the extra content from expansion and reduction of digital arm revenue potential!

the only good part of the deal was sky nz. The Australian content part we’ve got we’ll and truly shafted again.

what do you think about the nine/fox revenue only increasing by $8million a year? Pretty sht result wouldn’t you say, especially as we are giving them so much more?
and if afl is getting an extra $70mill a year in its australia revenue deal then it looks even worse,
Come on give us your opinion on such a meagre increase. Don’t be shy.

In the 2018 contract Telstra paid us nearly $200m a year, that figure included naming rights. If we continued to work on an apples v apples and include our latest naming rights sponsorship than that figure would become $2.1B with the probability of more to come.

Fox paid less than$1B last time.

haha, you really do make things up. For starters telstra never paid anything like that, it would be $1bill for 5 years lol. and secondly they paid most it to fox, only paying $15mill a year to nrl for naming rights in a 6 year deal Finishing in 2022.

naming rights will be worth around $15mill ayear and don’t sit in media revenue, they sit in sponsorship revenue line.

The nrl has literally told you what the tv deal is worth, $400million a year which is $20mill ayear more than the last tv deal. Considering the huge jumps in the Last two tv deals Vlandys has done a pretty sht job negotiating compared to the previous CEOs wouldnt you say?

However, in a big day for the NRL, Abdo revealed to AAP that expansion to an 18th team before the deal ends is still possible if the game believes it is profitable.
However the season's format could still change again during the life of the deal, if the NRL believes it can pursue an 18th team and a ninth game each round.

"If we do expand, we will revisit [the TV rights] cost," Abdo said.

"Of course it is [possible an 18th team could come before 2028], absolutely. It's not out of the question.

"If the commission is satisfied with the business case for expansion, then we will sit down with our partners.

"The business case has to make sure the incremental investment covers what the cost is and adds value for everyone."

Only Brisbane 3 will add extra value to the deal. Having three teams from Brisbane benefits Ch9, as they can schedule three Syd vs Bris matches across most rounds of the season to maximise ratings in Brisbane and Sydney. Our game is run by the networks and is pretty much Ch9's version of Big Brother.

Ch9 hasn’t paid anything extra for bringing in brisbane 2, why would they for brisbane 3?

Yeah, but I guess they still have to get the thumbs up from broadcasters to add the 9th game mid-contract.

NZ 2 is an easy sell to Sky, and from the Aussie broadcasters point of view, the NRL can say "hey, this helps solve the problem of 6pm (Sydney) kickoff on Friday night", and the home games of the 18th club would all be shot by Sky, so Channel 9/Fox avoid some production costs there too.
That would be wonderful for all parties, as it will save Foxtel and Ch9 some cash and help the pub game become more lucrative to NZ punters.

On the Ch9 deal, they do get the regular season quite cheaply. By all estimates SOO is worth $30mill a year so in effect Ch9 are paying $85mill cash a year for the nrl season. Optus is paying more than that for EPL streaming in Oz And ch7 pay afl around $140mill!
Ch7 gets to show the Crows and Power into Adelaide, Eagles and Dockers into Perth, Swans and Giants into Sydney and Lions and Suns into Brisbane each weekend, which helps add more eyeballs to their games. That in itself is worth something. Plus Ch7 is owned by a bloke from a fumbleball state.

Ch9 is stuck with airing Syd vs Syd across all markets at least 50% to 66% of the time.

Sorry ,
$200m all up for telstra,(digital and naming rights),

shouldn't of been too hard to work out.

And the 2018 deal was pointed out also.
Unfortunately some people have there own version of history and will stick with that no matter how wrong they are.

Wookie wrote it down at the time, I suggest you check out his website .
