2023-2028 next tv deal discussion

I mean we are just playing guess work but let’s say seven is $190mill, telstra is around the $50mill that leaves fox around the $233mill mark.

according to what you’ve said re seven and telstra their last deal was $433mill per year of which seven paid $147mill, telstra $50mill and that left fox paying $236mill.

If seven are paying $190mill and fox a little bit more as they have said (let’s say 5% more) equals $247mill that leaves telstra with $37mill.

but we are just guessing.

ps you’re being disingenuous re telstra and what they are getting in this deal. You have been shown numerous times that it is much more than that, including revenue from afls digital arm and advertising rights using afl branding and players.
what are you talking about
the original deal was 418 mill

147 million was 7
50 was telstra
leaves 221 million foxtel ( they're paying around that again for 23/24)

our old deal was
120 million was 9
20 was NZ
leaving 240 Million for foxtel

new deal
130 million 9
32 million NZ
240 Million foxtel

the difference is 20 mill approx a year for STV

I think Vlandys and his puppet can be breathing a big sigh of relief that sky nz stumped up big this time or the deal would have looked even worse if we were relying on nine and fox. Without the nz increase the deal would have only increased by 2%!

can you believe expansion with another brisbane club and closing of digital media was only worth $7million a year to our Australian media partners? We’ve been short changed!

So before the expansion decion Vlandys signed us up to foxtel for $20mill a year less than the previous deal? ficking hell!

you do realise the AFL deal hasn't increased at all as well don't you ?

thats
barely

averaged out over the 8 years , & this is with Telstra still paying 50 million a year which is highly unlikely
they got 418 Million in 2017
&
will get pretty much the same , best case scenario with telstra .. in 2024
Thats a bit of perspective right there 😎

what ?
both deals are 240 million pa hahahaha
You just pointed out that we are getting the same from fox this deal as last deal. Given we signed a deal with fox prior to expansion, then they agreed to pay an EXTRA $20mill a year for expansion that must mean the deal he signed originally was $20mill less than the last deal!

I'm really not IMO
they paid 50 million PA mainly for exclusive streaming mobile rights which they no longer have , it ending before the 2020 season began
They have since signed this new deal .. co incidentally a 5 year deal which would take it through to the end of

you guessed it
2024
worth 60 million over 5 years & for what they're getting
thats about right.

that puts the AFL at 422 ish for 2023/24
with
ch 7 @ 190
Foxtel @ 220
Telstra @ 12

it means that the present AFL deal 20-22 is
Ch 7 @ 117mill
foxtel @ 190 mill
Telstra @ 12

a measly 319 Million PA
hahaha
no wonder gil the dill said the AFL will be in the red for 4 years in a row & they lost 30 mill in 2020 & will again in 2021

Of course, he’s mak)g it all up lol. Anyway I’m done discussing afl with you. End of day their deal is $473mill and ours is $400mill for 23 &24. Anything else is just speculation. I’ll,stick to discussing the nrl deal and the key issues with it which are;

1.did Vlandys sign us up to fox for less than the 18-22 deal prior to the expansion decision?
2.have we ended up with exactly the same fox deal as 18-22 despite expanding the comp and giving concessions on digital revenue creation?
3. Why has the Australian media deals only gone up by 2% ($7million a year with $5mill of that contra) despite expansion which is costing more than $13million a year?
4. Why did we give up mid season internationals despite Ch9 offering no more cash than last deal?
5. Has the fox deal included reducing broncos on fta, and if yes what did that cost us in the fta deal?
6. how much of the $400mill is cash and how much contra?
7. will the ARLC go back to being open and accountable and show media revenue as a seperate line item in the annual accounts report?
8. why did we give fox exclusive streaming rights (removing telstra streaming) when fox hasn’t paid any extra for them?

Haha lets avg it over ten or twenty shall we? What’s relevant is what are both codes getting in the new tv deals that kick in from 2023.
no it isn't actually
its semantics for the AFL , clever wording only claiming an increase ,
but the reality can't hide the BS ... they're getting 730 Million from 7 for the years 2020 to 2024
averaged out thats exactly the same as the precovid amount years 2017-19

Foxtel
the same amount too

an increase ?
my aunt fannys fanny it is

the NRL will receive in 2022 in media rights payments
120 mill ch 9
there was no covid reduction from the original contract amount for next season , the NRL taking their hit in 20 & 21
220 mill foxtel
the reduced covid amount & this is what we would have paid til 2027 if we hadn't expanded but its up to 240 mill now , The Phins just added 100 million to the games bottom line ... thank you
20 mill NZ

so
thats 360 Million V the AFL's 319
wow
just wow 😎

What? The nine deal has gone up only in contra, no cash increase compared to 18-22.
you claimed the 23- fox deal is $240mill, exactly same as 18-22 deal.
so neither nine or fox have paid any extra cash for expansion accroding to what you have said! Make your mind up! Is fox paying more in23 than they did in the 18-22 deal or not?

the increase is “over” $100mill or $20mill ish a year.
$12.8mill of that is from nz
$10mill is contra from nine
thats $22.8mill. a year
Where is the fox increase if there is one???

in 2022
i listed what we will get , no reduction in FTA from the original amount , we took our reductions over the last 2 seasons , about 55 Million
with foxtel , I said what we originally signed up to you halfwit .. before covid , 240 million
it was reduced to 220 mill due to covid & the NRL signed a deal on that amount til the end of 2027
Expansion has added 100 million in a new deal
yaaaayyyy 😎

Wow so Vlandys did sign us up to fox for $20mill a year less than the 2018 deal, fricking hell! I seem to remember some saying that we got such a sht deal in 2018 from fox due to smiths snubbing of them. Turns out Vlandys managed to sign an even shtier deal!

So we expanded and still got the same deal in australia as before expansion Other than $10mill contra from nine lol.
And somehow you see this as a good outcome?

confirms his news ltd stoogeness.

Nope, they got a 9.2% increase. Keep trying.
AFL chief Gillon McLachlan said the revised five-year deal with Seven for 2020-2024 was for $730 million or an average of $146 million per year for free to air rights.

Coming stight out of your mates mouth!

no
its 100 million more
for the tenth time you babbling moron , we signed a new reduced deal to the end of 2027 when covid hit
we didn't know what the future held & we took what they offered
The Phins added 100 million

you seem to think covid had no effect on anything
Well heres a little reality check for you dummy

your beloved AFL have barely got 2 extra razoos for their efforts in their new deal too as a result of covid
😎
