Tigers fired Scott Fulton, Fox journos will be unhappy with that as they think he is a messiah

Apparently Olam has verbally agreed to play for the Tigers this year

Looks like you guys get Volkman back, out for the year as well. No wonder you tried to get rid of him.
Saw that report, but what’s the contract situation? Is he still technically on our books, or have we already formally released him?

For his sake I hope it’s not the latter. Poor kid could be left in no man’s land.

Yeah I hope that means he stays on our books- would rather they than he’s cut with no contract and income

Is it definitely his ACL? I read it was his shoulder.
As said above I will be glad if we keep him.

For Volkman? Is his shoulder, surgery will keep him out until late in the season. We have legally released him from his contract, so he's no longer a Warrior or even living in NZ. Really bad timing here, his management have f**ked this up big time. I assume he only had a niggle in his shoulder, and had no idea he was buggered. Real shame for the guy.

He has talent, wouldn't be a bad investment for a club to sign him up this season with a train and trial contract. I wouldn't be against the Warriors doing this, but can't see him moving back over here for basically a recovery year. More likely align with a local Sydney club.

Yes just read somewhere he was formally released by us before Christmas.

And if other reports are true, and that his Dragons contract hadn’t yet been registered with the NRL, and they will now wriggle themselves out of after the medical results, then yes agree, Volkman’s management has absolutely screwed things up and f*cked the poor kid over in the process.

Poor bastard, that’s a major screw up. He wouldn’t have been on big $ with us either so I seriously doubt he has the cash to sit around and rehab without an income for most of the year.

Sounds like out of the three parties involved the Warriors are the least at fault - absolute balls up by the Dragons and his management though.
I think it’d be worth us considering making him a conditional offer for 2025 though, he’s already had some of his contract paid out and wouldn’t be required back in NZ for a few months at least. The situation has put a dent on his contract value for a couple of seasons so could provide us with cost effective cover for SJ if he hangs up the boots after this year.

Agree Spacey.

BTW is the Stuff article written by our Andrew Webster? Bit unusual if it is.

Feel really bad for Volkman, I honestly can't figure out where the blame lies but I imagine the Dragons have something major to do with the issues. Seems like the release was activated without the Dragons having done the medical or satisfactorily done their homework. Weird that Volkman trained with the Dragons and hadn't told them, or thought it was minor, or managed to keep it under wraps despite it being so major that it requires season ending surgery in January.

Warriors gave him some sort of payout?

Not a great situation, but seems the Warriors and Volkman were aware of an issue, and the Dragons didn't do any assessment - amateurish on their part (and tbh Volkman's management who seem to have put him in a very bad sport), but I don't see anyone looking particularly good here... Warriors probably least bad, and imho Volkman's management most bad
