Hey guys I'm at my local and we're all watching the footy on the big screen, and if you think Campbelltown crowd is bad than you should see the afl one in the Gold Coast...looks like 2k there...and the afl game is on the other end, and no one's watching it...
Except you it seems.

They should alternate the home game with Melbourne each year, at least
Good crowds are built upon repetition, and this game every year is the strongest h/a game for melbourne because of it, taking it away evwey second year might lose some traction

And atleast the warriors always have a very healthy away crowd with all the melbourne based kiwis as well, im expecting even more this year with them actually in form, atmosphere should be amazing

It also helps with collingwood, and collingwood and storm's netball sides, have joined together to market the 3 games as an olympic park triple header

Yep we should keep the game in Melbourne because it helps Collingwood

who cares about the nz market on Anzac Day

if the storm have to get a game on Anzac Day to boost their crowd average then it can be someone else even south’s would carry the crowd for the storm

it’s a disgrace nz doesn’t get an Anzac game and shows the way the arlc take nz for granted

The Warriors don't have to play in Melbourne on ANZAC Day, but they choose to, this is not something the ARLC or anyone else makes them do, in fact it was the ARLC who decided in 2015 to break up the fixture and get the Warriors to play at Mt Smart.

The match drew 15K, the players hated it, the club wasn't happy and the next year it was back.

The Storm & Warriors had to fight for the concept, when it first started in 2009, it wasn't part of any TV contract and the clubs had to convince the NRL to ask for a special exemption to play the fixture as it wasn't at a contracted timeslot.

The game has become a marquee fixture since which for a code which lack many marquee match ups is important.

Lol their game sells out in minutes it doesn't help them at all

It helps us though and its great seeing a sporting community work together to benefit all, the us v them mentality is stupid

This, noones forcing the warriors to play, its a fixture that has grown somewhat naturally from both clubs, which is something that should be encouraged not meddled with by the arlc

Would also need to be a 9pm kick off nz time to stay in the current tv time slot..

The shit takes from the Swans fan continue.

"Let's create a fixture that no-one is asking for! And let's ruin the only marquee game the Storm have".

the one hand as a Warriors fan it sucks when we’re shit and the Storm are good and it means a flogging
But on the other hand I accept that Anzac Day in NZ is a much more low key affair and Melbourne just does the big occasion thing better. Really if both sides are competitive it shouldn’t be an issue.

Manly an West Magpies oops Tigers should be a Marque game each Anzac Day weekend not Anzac Day but a feature game off the round. At Alliance stadium. Deserves more then 9000 in Cambelltown Sunday. Could be 30 40 thousand . Right game right VENUE

“Stuff understands that in the past the Warriors have tried to get the Anzac Day game moved to Auckland, but the NRL hasn’t budged and as it draws one of the Storm’s biggest crowds of the season, because of the ex-pat Kiwis that attend, they wouldn’t be keen on relinquishing it either.”

Nrl is too insular
