Storm are yet to finalise a venue for these rounds

Their hope is docklands but the afl have yet to release their draw for those rounds

They've stated the games will 100% be in Melbourne in a venue large enough for all members to attend, but if docklands isn't available I'm not sure where that leaves other than leaving Melb for Geelong
how is it that the aflol haven't released their entire draw when they're 7 rounds into the season
what utter crap

I'd imagine they're gearing their FTA nationally covered TV games to make them more attractive & higher rating , attempting to avoid dud match ups
the NRL used to do the same there for a bit , but got howled down by fans trying to organise their lives around footy.

Hasn't had much impact on Klanball TV ratings tho really , they're still way down on previous years & still being arse raped by the NRL.

There's Mars Stadium in Ballarat but it doesn't have TV standard lighting plus it only fits 12k. Geelong would be the next best option after Docklands, it's quite short and narrow for an oval (about the same size as Accor in oval mode) so it's the best option outside of a rectangular ground, even with the City end closed for upgrades, the capacity there currently is similar to AAMI right now, even the MCG could be an option as a one off

The Eels only take 1 home game away from Commbank a year and are paid around $350k per year for the game . It’s the only premiership game played in Darwin each year and they do it on Anzac weekend so the fans can travel. It’s a great experience and we did Kakadu at the same time with the family
They could take any game there. To miss out on a big occasion at commbank so a few hundred fans can travel seems a bizarre reason!

It would have to be a game that lines up with a public holiday as the sponsorship is lined up with tourism NT and they want the fans to travel and spend money, they aren’t paying us for the locals to go. I don’t think we are going to give up Easter Monday and only other one is Queens birthday during the season. We also take a Queensland team which is never going to draw a massive crowd at home anyway.
