Yeah the Gabba might do ok for the Brisbane derby but the novelty will wear off quickly. Same with storm games and roosters at the scg

Roosters 2 games at the SCG will be a disaster. They are Thursday against manly and Saturday against storm.

The club really missed a trick here IMO. Instead of playing the dogs in a few weeks time at Gosford, they could have played that at the SFS and Melbourne at Gosford. That would have just left the one game at SCG.

The Eels only take 1 home game away from Commbank a year and are paid around $350k per year for the game . It’s the only premiership game played in Darwin each year and they do it on Anzac weekend so the fans can travel. It’s a great experience and we did Kakadu at the same time with the family
I think it's closer to a million they get to go up there from NT Tourism.

I believe it was a million for 3 years but that was a release in 2015, might have increased a bit since then
Sorry , just looked up the article and it was $1 million a year for 4 years back then, hopefully it has gone up since then but is a good financial decision by the club I believe.

They have a 6-3 record up there and every team should take a game to a region that doesn’t have top flight football to spread the gospel.
Agree, NT as well has always had a strong RL following as well, so definitely deserves at least a game a year.

The fact the Eels can also earn $1m+ per year taking the game is just an added bonus.

Today's matches:
Grandstands are pretty much sold out at Mt Smart (only single seats left). Tracking for 20K+

Very few seats left in the Grandstands at WIN Stadium. I count about 300 left (there are 13000 seats at WIN Stadium)

Possibly on track for 15K+ now that the weather isn't as wet in Wollongong & Sydney as earlier predicted.

Win filling up fast. Most seats were gone by kickoff. Hill seems well attended so far.
